If you could invent anything, what would it be?

Realistic or not, if you could invent one thing, what would it be?  Some type of food?  Some magical pill?  A fiber optic sticker you could stick on the tip of your fishing rod to see it move at night?

I'd totally invent a pencil sharpener that would only shave off the wood and not the coloured lead.  Do you have any idea how much coloured pencil lead is wasted by sharpening?  Ugh, my poor chartreuse pencil. :( 

A way to appear and disappear like in Harry Potter. Think of the craziness that would happen with land value! You could live far away from work, where land is cheap! You could go on vacation anywhere without airfare being prohibitive! You would cut down on people's commuting times and stop the need for vehicles!

I would invent a robotic clone of me - so I could send it to work sometimes - so I could have a day off and get paid for it as well.  :)

I would invent a kitten that never grew up to be a cat. It would stay forever small, cute, and crazy.

A cure for autism.  Also high on my list would be a cure, or at least a non-toxic treatment, for renal cell carcinoma.

After that, I think it would be really cool to have an efficient, clean running, good looking car that was fueled by garbage.

I'm not telling you because then you'll steal my idea and get rich LOL. J/K - I have nothing....

An exercise machine that you can use while you sleep. 

I'm always coming up with ideas. Here's another:

A gym where all cardio equipment is hooked up to generators. You could sell the energy back to the electric companies and not charge membership fees.

A human specific, 90% lethal, airborne virus. I have faith that nature is working on that for me though.

Over population is a problem. But do you really think a 90% loss of human kind would be what it takes to reach equilibrium once again?

I've thought of that too (gym equipment hooked into generators) but I found out that the amount of energy generated would be so insignificant it wouldn't be worthwhile.  Darn.

A type of ice cream that is so incredibly amazing tasting, is incredibly good for you, and has zero calories and no bad fats.

AND a machine that will put all knowledge in your head for you so you don't have to go to school.

No ma'am, I am thinking influenza meets ebola zaire, so I do actually have the viruses in mind - that is where the 90% came from. :)

I don't think it would help much tbh, it would just delay the inevitable by 100y or so. I am marginally hopeful that we would learn from the mess we have made now. Unfortunately, I reckon we would just mess it up all over again, and it would take around 100-200y to get us back to our current state of overpopulation. 

Downloadable knowledge, just like on The Matrix.  Now that's something I could totally go for, but when thinking about how it's could completely screw up life forever as we know it, I almost want to never contemplate that idea.

Kids go to school to give parents time for sex.

I know, this is maybe too nerdy and sciencey, but I could really use a flexible glass.  As in, glass that can behave elastically, but only when I need it to, lol.

If I had my way I'd invent a few things:

1-  An instant pill that took away headaches (yes-  i have a bad one right now)

2-  A waist wrap you could put onto your mid-section (or thighs, butt) and it would suck all cellulite out and firm up any lose skin)

3-  A hotdog that a pregant lady could eat without making her bloated or would not have any foodborne illness dangers.

Yes, I'm in my grouchy, complaining preggo fat mode as I type.
