Hello, I was doing some research about iodine and hypothyroidism. My Chiropractor gave me the iodine test and I found out that I am severely low! Here is a site to test yourself. Not full-proof but a guide.

Does anyone have a good iodine nutritional supplement other than salt? I heard kelp is good. Has anyone tried this?

if you are really low, i'd reccomend going to see an endocrinologist, because he or she will be able to help you with thyroid problems.  your thyroid is really important, so take good care of it.  go get it looked at if you think something is off.

My massage therapist recommended this a while ago as well.  I did have postpartum thyroiditis after my daughter, and I swear I have never been the same since.  I do see an endocrinologist and they have been monitoring my levels, but I swear I something is wrong these days.

Where did you get the iodine to test though?  I have never had to purchase it ;)

I take Iodoral iodine supplement and got my iodine loading test (urine) at FFP Labs. I was very low, also even tho my thyroid tests said I was normal. Those thyroid tests are often inaccurate. Iodoral really changed my life.

Iodine therapy has become very big in the last few years but you usually have to find an iodine literate doctor because a lot of doctors aren't up on the new iodine medical literature.

There is an online Iodine discussion group on Yahoo of 2500 people taking iodine, most with iodine literate doctors. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iodine/

i used to have the same problem , had iodine supplements and my doc told me to EAT LOTS OF FISH!
