You'll get the deposit back after a year and they'll send you a check. I love my Iphone, but right now I only have the 2g. It depends if its worth it to you personally.

I'm thinking about switching to Verizon to get the Droid phone that just came out. It's an open platform, has a full keyboard, FLASH on the camera! Looks awesome! Ah decisions decisions. My contract is up in January.

I recommend a mytouch g3.

I got an iPhone 3G as a gift, and honestly wasn't that stoked. I'm not a big technology person. But after about two months with it, I've gotta say, I absolutely ADORE it!! It's a really fun phone. I read the New York Times and Time on it whilst on the bus, I use it as an iPod while at the gym, and I can download workouts right onto it!

It really works for me, so yeah, if it were me, I'd say it's worth it. You need to examine what you need in a phone though. The 750 sucks, but you get it back.

When you use your phone at the gym etc. do you find that the battery life drains quick?  I keep my iPOD handy for jogging, because I figure that when I need my phone it will be dead because I used it for my work out.  How goes it with yours?  My phone contract is up this month, I'm going to get a new phone, and I too am with ATT.  Sometimes I jog late at night so it's a hassle to carry the phone and my iPOD.  My work out pants only have one media pocket.  Thanks...

Life as I know it would be over without my iPhone. I don't know how I lived without it. Seriously.

When I was just using my phone as a phone and for music/apps (I now use the bluetooth on it for internet on my computer, which drains lots of battery) I didn't have any problems at all with battery life! I plugged it in most nights - but sometimes I forgot, and it'd still be fine for the next day. It's really great for the gym because not only can you listen to music, but if you get bored you can watch videos on YouTube or read from the plethora of newspaper apps. xD And it charges pretty quickly anyways, so if you're in a jam you can just put it in for 15 or 20 minutes and have enough charge to get by. :)

i just got an 8GB 3G for girlchild for her birthday - it was time to upgrade though so it was $199. she would never have gotten one from me if i had to come up with a $750 deposit. thats just crazytalk.

i buy her one phone every two years - she can pick anything - but shes on her own if anything happens to it before upgrade again. she bought her last 3 phones since last upgrade. oy.

all i can say is if you get it, be sure to plan all social activities for that day BEFORE you get your phone because once you get it you wont be looking up for a while. we went to lunch and shopping after, should have done those things before. shes lucky she didnt walk through a plate glass window omg.

she loveslovesloves it. i got my ipod back and she owes me her miomoov gps i got her last xmas.

Ooooo!  I want to try it, but I would really miss my navigator.  I have it on my current phone, and can't tell you how many times it's come in handy.  My car is a 2000 model so no GPS in it, although I know I could buy a Tom Tom or Garman.  I just think it looks messy when I see people with their GPS after factory....oh the choices!!!!  Especially once I upgrade it will be another 2 years.  Also, my friend sent a MMS to my phone and another friends iPhone at the same time (we three were together).  My friend with the iPhone said they couldn't open those types of _______.  I wish I would have paid more attention.  What can't you open on iPhones that you can on regular PDA's??

iPhones didn't used to have MMS (multimedia messaging system?) so they couldn't send or receive picture messages like a text. They had to be sent as an email to the email account on the iphone. AT&T (or Apple, not sure which) recently added MMS to the iPhone so they send picture messages now.

Thanks delaney86!  That anwers the question.
