30(ish) years / 30 pounds buddies?

Hey.

I'm trying to filter the group down to find a small enough group that we can actually follow each other and get to know each other a bit.  I'm totally overwhelmed by how many people post here!

I'm 32 and, well, blah blah blah.  LOL!  I've written it so many times!  It's in my profile.  Anyway, I have 30 pounds left.  I've been hitting about 2 pounds per week but I suspect that as I get closer to being a healthy weight, that will slow down.  I'm trying not to get discouraged with not seeing the loss as quickly as I have been.

i'm 28 and have 30lbs to go
hehe Sara, I recognize you from the sex post. :)

Robochels, that's funny that your friends are being competative about it.  My friends and I get that way about our kids, but all of my friends are skinny so I'm pretty much the odd duck out.

2sweet, thanks!  I'm actually at the half way point, started at 229, I'm at 200 now. (Well, until I hit the gym tonight and weigh myself anyway.. hoping for that 199!)

Any of you noticing that it is harder to lose now then it used to be?  Back in college I used to be able to lose about 1/2 a pound per day or so.  That, and my body isn't really going back to being thin as well - my skin isn't as good about pulling back it seems.  I'm honestly toying with some plastics once I reach my goal.

Robyn, my covers have been blown off!

For the rest of you who are wondering, search for "august challenge...smiles and winks" and "This can't be right".

I have a slightly naughty sense of humor!

I'm 30-  the goal is 25 lbs and I've got 21.5 to go.
So ladies, I have just completed nearly a whole week of no weight change at all.  That is so discouraging!  Is it like that once you hit 200 and under all that time?

OK, BTW - it has changed, just from, like 200.8 to 200.2. Since I haven't been recording the decimal places, that's rounded out to no change.
I'm 30 and would like to lose 30(ish) lbs... more like 35.
Would love to join you all on your quest!
i'm 31 and I have 30ish to lose!
Hi,

30 years old looking to drop 30lbs.

You will naturally loose muscle as you age.  This is fine but that is why you cant loose like you used to in college.  So it is vital in your 30s to focus on mucle building exercises and not just calorie couting or cardio.   And that you eat enough such that your body does not comsume too much muscle.  This will also help you stay young looking because you skin will not sag as much, etc.  I have an irrational fear of this so uhmm, yeah....

Also, a weeks worth of time in diet land is not long enough to make any siginificant conclusions about the effectiveness of your weight loss strategy.

Keep in mind that so long as you are eating *enough* (well over your BMR) but not going over your normal calrorie expenditure you will loose weight over time -- it is metaphysically given ;)

Cheers.
