Isn't life funny sometimes? (A Post About Body Image)
Well the other night I was with some friends (three guys, two girls) and we were all watching Twilight together (lol the guys got outvoted). And the prom dress shopping scene came on, and I saw Angela (the tall friend Bella has in the movie) and I thought in my head "Woah! She has such a nice thin body!"
Just after the thought passed through my head, one my guy friends says "Oh my gosh! She is SO grossly skinny!". Both of the others guys chime in, and all us girls were silently watching the movie (waiting for Edward! haha).
I just thought it was so funny how different female and male perception is. Haha, after hearing their comments I have felt so much more secure that I even realized that I don't want to loose as much weight as i originally thought! (I wanted to be 110, but I'm changing my goal to 120)
All other things be equal, I, a 16-year-old real... boy, just like a healthy look. I don't tend to be attracted to overweight girls, but I know some curvier types who are attractive, despite my current skinny object of affection.

Sounds like you don't know what you're talking about.
Hmmmm....your boy sounds like a future woman beater.
lol..did not notice angela too much to be honest, was focusing on the guys XD..but i did notice that she was too skinny, and barely had any shape. ok..that's not a nice thing to say,it's not like i'm very shapely myself but that was my impression of her.
Nice conversation going on here...
And thats pretty cool, it sorta makes sense. HOPE!!!

Don't be so prejudiced.
You don't know me, and you don't my boyfriend.
So don't judge.
For someone who loves to judge others and make catty comments on other people's threads, you sure are one to speak up about being prejudiced or telling others not to judge.
My advice to you is to to smarten up and mature yourself. Take your negativity somewhere else. No one here is agreeing with any of your rude remarks, so get a clue - it's not our problem, it's yours. If you want to start a fight, go somewhere else.

It's sad that you measure your self-worth on what other people think of you.
Losing weight will not make a clod of a difference to one's self-esteem.
Me and my sister went to Twilight and vaguely enjoyed it. My brothers... love it. It's trippy.
And there's a kid in my Psychology class that looks like teenage/blond Robert Pattinson. But with better eyebrows.
It's fantastic you have friends like that! My experience isn't really the same. The very thin girls always go to the dances and have boytoys, though most of my school is thin to begin with. Girls who think highly of themselves often are more social and confident, so their bodies could have little to do with it.
I get a little bitter thinking about it, but honestly I have to pick up my favoritest quote "Those who know the least know it the loudest". Guys with "No Fat Chicks" motto wear it on their face, and guys who couldn't care less.. probably don't even bring it up.
I want to lose weight and be healthy, but I don't want anyone to say I did it for a man.
The super-skinny tubular body style will probably die. In 20 years, we'll look at our celebrities and say, "What were we thinking?" It'll be way fun. :D

My boyfriend, who is 22-year-old real man (if by 'real' you mean heterosexual
) likes only skinny girls. The skinnier the better.
So then gay and bisexual men are fake? :S

Oh darn, I thought she meant those weirdos with unhealthy deviant sexual fetishes. You know, pedophiles, rapists, arrogant SOBs that only want a woman to be shown off as a trophy. (;
I gotta say, I'm glad they changed your perspective. I'm trying to lose weight for the 'New Moon' premiere so I started this group: http://caloriecount.about.com/time-new-moon-p remiere-g1897
I'm not trying to be a Jessica or an Angela, although Bella's body shape is pretty spot-on for me - height and weight wise.
