It makes me sad to see women putting themselves down because they don't think they're at their "perfect" weight. How much happiness, fun, and enjoyment are you missing out on when you hold yourself back from life because you aren't a size 0 (if that is an unrealistic size for you)?

I'm not promoting being unhealthy, I just think that women are beautiful...in all shapes, colors, and sizes...

One woman I love is Chloe Agnew of Celtic Woman. She is plus-size, beautiful, and OMG her voice!!!

What woman/women do you admire?

I LOVE Celtic Woman! Chloe is so beautiful all around. They all are. I wish I could play as well as Mairead.

I love Celtic Woman too, caiteliz...there was some grumbling awhile back about their videos...people saying they were lip-synching...I'm not sure if they were or not, but it's still their voices and the shows are beautiful!

Awwwwww, I was hoping to get more responses...no one here has a woman in mind that they think is fab?

I think a lot of women are 'fab' for a lot of different reasons - rarely for the way they look.  I'd love to have Germaine Greer's argumentative streak, Angela Merkel's authority, Amy Winehouse's singing ability (although not the tattoos, tatty up-do or substance abuse problems), Dame Ellen MacArthur's single-mindedness, J K Rowling's earning potential, Victoria Wood's ability to turn a phrase..... I could go on and on.

great post gi-jane Smile

I've always admired women that had musical talent...I'm not really musically inclined (as far as playing instruments) myself...

When it comes to looks I think I'm more interested in 'style' rather than 'size'...   Because we're about the same age I like to keep an eye on what Liz Hurley's doing with clothing because I like her style and I think she gets it right.  And, by contrast, even though she's also a similar age I think Sarah-Jessica Parker gets it so badly wrong...

I'm also keeping a weather-eye on older women.  Honor Blackman, Joanna Lumley and Dame Helen Mirren, for example.  Obviously they were very beautiful as young women and that gives them a head start but if I can get into my sixties, seventies and eighties with anything approaching their sense of style I'd be seriously impressed.

Yes! I love Dame Helen Mirren...I thought she was wonderful in Elizabeth I and Calendar Girls (My goodness, I never realized what a great pair she had til Calendar Girls!-not to be crude)

I first noticed her in Excalibur...

There's something to be said for aging gracefully instead of nipping and tucking everything to death....no, I'm not knocking surgery, just think it's ridiculous how it can get out of hand.
