Italian tonight
so my brother comes home like twice or once a week and when he does, he picks whats for dinner. Tonight we are ordering Italian.
I'm going to get whole wheat penne, but the options for sauce is garlic and olive oil or tomato sauce. What is the best option??
Both are good in regards to health. Calorically, tomato is best if it is straight up tomato. If it is a creamy tomato sauce, garlic and olive oil.
Where are you ordering from? A lot of places add lots of sugar to their tomato sauce (or even cream if it's a "pink" sauce).
In general the tomato sauce should be much lower in calories. But if you can afford the calories, the garlic and olive oil sounds way yummier.
Romeo's, just your general pizzeria. I decided to order my pasta from the kids menu, the whole wheat penne. I'm thinking the tomato sauce is your average sauce, nothing added but who knows lol. I might ask for light sauce, or maybe sauce on the side? maybe marinara??
but that garlic and olive oil does sound wayyy better hhah
Then I definitely vote for the garlic and olive oil.
That is a sauce that won't be bad for you (in fact it's quite healthy) as long as you're okay with more calories. And to be honest, you're very teeny and the calories won't hurt you in the slightest.
so i ended up getting whole grain kids size penne dish with tomato sauce (light), i made my own side of green beans and I had two medium slices of Italian bread, since I went easy on the calories with the sauce. i love bread lol
