Italian Turkey Sausage and Rice Soup Recipe

Submitted by jamiejoyce

Makes 8 servings

Very quick and very easy tasty low calorie soup.

Ingredients
1 bag instant whole grain rice (Uncle Ben's)
4 cups of chicken broth
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup diced green pepper
1 tsp Mrs Dash Chipotle Seasoning
1 tsp Lawry's garlic salt
1 link Honeysuckle Italian Turkey Sausage chopped
Directions
  1. In large saucepan add broth, or in my case water and boullion. You do not have to wait for broth to boil before adding instant rice.

  2. Go ahead and add rice, sausage onion and green peppers along with all the seasonings.

  3. Cook until sausage is done and rice is tender.

  4. It is quick and easy and oh so tasty. I figured 8 ladles full and only 75 calories per ladle! I added a serving of shredded mozzarella for an additional 80 calories, but it was worth it.
