So anyone watching the FIFA world cup final...??

What a great way to start the game....

first 5 minutes and France scored already..

My Italian family is screaming at the TV as I write this!!! LOL... and phoning our family in Italy!

my husband is in italy now, he called at eh start of the game, i could not hear him on the phone, just the screaming neapolitans! wish i was there!

Looks like overtime, kids!  I'm still saying Italy, though they
had a bad second half.  Their defense will hold and they will
strike the gamewinner soon enough.  Let's hope theres no penalty
kicks, I'm still scarred from the '94 world cup :-P

I was with Italy, Im Glad they won, But I got real pissed with what happened to zudane! I swear he does not deserve the red card! The other guy said something to zudane to piss him off so bad!

But Italy did deserve the cup cause they played so well throughout the game.

Zidane deserved that red card... and I was rooting for France. I missed the play since I was driving home from work but caught the rest of the game. I think France overall, played better (the ball was in their control most of the time). Those damn penalty kicks... argh.

Oh well... what can ya do? It was a good game.

It was a good Game!! I missed when Zudane got the red card.

Zidane is a prick.  What a selfish player to pull that on his teammates.  He would not have missed a penalty kick and it coulda turned out differently had he not done that.

However, I'm glad Italy won!  They're one of my favorite teams (if not THE favorite) and it's nice to see such a great and passionate team win!

Just got back from City Hall ..... It was soooo awesome :)

stupid Zidane. and I was rooting for FRANCE! WHY DID HE DO THAT? Italia must have said something pretty harsh....

Oh well... I rode the T home with a bunch of sad Frenchman, all in all great day....now I must eat!

Yeah I can be so sure he had said somthing harsh to him, I wouldnt think he would do that.( he shouldnt have though, it was a hard knock out there)Anyway  he 's one of my favourite players even thought I dont like the team. ;)

Oh he's so great and its sad that is the way his retirement plays out. There is still no excuse for that sort of behavior especially with all of the younger fans he has looking up to him. Oh well, great game non the less!! And the italian fans were hilarious!

There is nothing that can be said to ellicit such a response.  It
was childish and selfish.  I always thought it would be great if
he ended up coming to the states...but now I don't think so.  I
understand playing hard and playing dirty.  But when you're not
even involved in a play and you do that because of something that was
SAID?  No excuse.  Truly classless.

I felt so sorry for Zidane, but I'm sooo glad Italy won though.

haha finewine... Zidane has been known to pull moves like that before. What can ya do? There are so many "what-ifs" in that game where if some things would've been done differently France probably would've won. Zidane was an amazing soccer player... he chose how he was ending his career. He's the one to live with that.

Katy I can't believe you were @ City Hall watching it. They kept cutting to Boston during the game to show the crowd and I just laughed... why was there such a huge thing in Boston anyway? It's not like Ireland was in the game! ;)
