Okay heres the deal...After I work out on the treadmill for awhile, my legs, thighs, back of knees, you name it begins to ITCH really bad.
Does ANYONE know WHY??
I like to tell myself its just the fat burning off, but really, what causes this?
It really bothers me, any info would be appreciated.
Same thing happens to me sometimes. Today, I went out shopping and I was really itchy but I think it was the material of my pants.
I noticed that if I don't exercise in a really long time, when I start back up, I get the itchies. I thought it was because of my fat jiggling around because it calms down the more in shape I get.
You could try switching to a different laundry soap and see how it goes.
I don't believe it has anything to do with soap or dry skin. It Only happens after running on the treadmill.
Sometimes, Like when my hands are extremely cold from being outside (Winter weather) and then they start to warm up, It happens then to. So...Do you think it might be a nerve problem?
I think it has to do with circulation probably. When you are cold or inactive, your blood vessels constrict and blood flow to your arteries is reduced. When you warm up or exercise, the little capillaries under you skin expand rapidly to allow more blood to flow through. This causes an itching sensation as nerves around the vessels are triggered and send impulses to the brain. I don't really know of a solution, but my guess would be that if you start your workout without a very slow warmup (stretching and arm and leg circles and such), the itching might not be as bad. Also, if you have just started an exercise routine fairly recently, the itching might improve as you become more fit.
I think itching while exercising is a fairly common problem, and considering the same thing happens when you come in from the cold, it makes sense that it would be related to circulation. However, I'm no doctor, and I could be wrong here. There are such things as exercise-induced anaphylaxis, where you are basically allergic to exercise.
i get the itchies after a few miles too. i always wondered what they were from. not just my legs but my arms, and back too. i think the circulation answer sounds reasonably correct. I'll buy that one.
I have this too! It only happens when I run, but does not bother me when I do the elliptical. I played college soccer and it never happened, and then a couple months after soccer was over my legs would start to itch. I have found it starts after running for about 10 minutes. But if I run on grass, a turf soccer field, or something with cushion that it does not bother me, I think it has to do with the shock from my leg hitting the hard surface of the treadmill, track or sidewalk. I have had my same running shoes for awhile and they are worn so I bought Adidas Megabounce running shoes I think it helps absorb the shock as well. So try running on grass, and getting more cushioned running shoes! It really helps!! or stick to the elliptical!!
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
