ok. ive been eating maintenance and gained 3 lbs. comments plz
ive been eating my maintenance of 2000-2300 calories a day for 12 days so far. ive gone from 121.5 to 124.6lbs. i did, though, just got off my period last night.
is this normal weight gain for ppl with shot metabolisms eating maintenance??
do ya think its muscle gain from finally eatin the right amount?? (i do elliptical atleast 20 mins level 7 every day backwards and forwards and do core and arm strength training, lunges, and squats everyother day)

It could very easily be muscle mass gain or water retention by your muscles. Remember to weigh yourself in the mornig just after using the bathroom and to do it naked for the least fluctuation due to clothing/excrements/consumed foods.
Don't be worried if you've gained a few extra pounds. As imtkain suggested, it could possibly be due to muscle gain or water retention. Weight will always fluctuate through out the week. The best way to monitor your performance is to go by your Body Fat Percentage (BFP). You can get your body fat measured in your gym using a calipers, or you can do this yourself at home using a measuring tape and the YMCA calculator (google ymca calculator). Remember 1lb of muscle is smaller than 1lb of fat because its more dense.
Also, try and change around your workout routine every 2 - 3 weeks. Don't just stick with the same speed on the elliptical. Start of at 50% speed or intensity, and increase it every minute until you get to 5 minutes. Then repeat the process again until you have done 20 mins in total. This will burn more calories and will continue to burn calories after you have finished.
my first couple of weeks i gained, its normal from everyone else that i've heard from as well. if it goes beyond a few weeks then you should start looking at doing something different. & periods..., well it tends to throw off everything with me.
