I've been logging my info wrong!

Quote  |  Reply

Ugh... i feel so unmotivated. I found out that i've been logging my information wrong every day for the past few weeks. *sigh* I feel like those few weeks were all for nothing... idk if anyone else has done this but it sucks. I thought i was doing so good too...

Oh well, i guess i have to move on anyway. i cant slump around if i want to lose weight. I just hate how right when you're feeling like youre getting somewhere something tears it all down.

...not to mention i have a toothache (stupid sensitive tooth).

Any words of encouragement?

what do you mean by wrong? i mean how 'wrong' did u upload it? i did the same at the begining but it wasn't that bad ;). so what was your mistake? wanna exchange mistakes? :P

mrsbeba, how very frustrating for you! I am sorry ... what a bummer.  I trust that you have things all figured out now and are back on track?

And about your tooth, ouch! ouch! ouch!  Are you taking anything for it? Heading to a dentist soon? (I hope)

Just take things one meal at a time, one day at a time, one pound at a time ... YOU CAN DO THIS!  Each time you choose wisely and make a healthy choice, your body dances with joy!

I put that i was moderately active and then was logging in my extra activities, like exercise etc, that ive done throughout the day. Turns out i wasnt burning any calories...

what happened was i started off only eating about 1200-1300 calories, then i made a post and everyone said i needed to eat more than that esp. for my weight 195, and height: 5'3. SO... i re-calculated my calories that i should intake and i got about 1700-1800 - and that's what i've been doing. Only thing is now i realise that i haven't been burning calories all along... it's such a bummer. Even if i have only burned about 200 calories a day - that sucks! I feel like i've been doing so well, up until today! *sigh*

i'll get over it, i'm just disappointed. I guess there's only one thing to do - taebo. LOL.

Get this too, if i would have just stuck to my original plan i would have been burning at least 1000, and my calories would have been 1200. I would have been losing weight.... (but then again i don't want to starve, who does at 195?) haha.

Thanks Molly, i'm trying to stay positive! In fact i'm trying to motivate myself to exercise... taebo and then some stationary bike... whoo Undecided

As for my tooth, it's been this way for a while. It gets sensitive sometimes... maybe with the weather change? idk - i can only hope! as for a dentist... i'm trying to stick it out for however long i can! Waiting on dental - and oh yes, i am taking the only tylenol i have in my house, and it's for night time cold relief so it makes me so very tired... haha. Well, at least the pain goes away!

Thanks again.

mrsbeba

not to worry.....it's not been all for naught!!!!!!!!!!!  you've been doing the hard part.....counting calories, watching what you eat, exercising, etc.  The logging of all this information is secondary to actually DOING IT!!!!!!!!!!  Feel good about the fact you've done the WORK!!!!

You still have gotten a lot of benefits from your exercise.

When I started, I preferred to use sedentary as my activity level and log all my exercise separately.  I had to bump my activity level up to active because I was doing so much and there's more calories that you burn because of that than just from the exercise.  I still frequently log my activities because I like to see them, I just don't pay attention to the burn meter because I know how many calories I really burn.

i did smth similar. i was using the old version of the site and unconsciously cheating ( spending 5 hours in front of the pc playing reading typing or whatever were logged as light office activity which i now consider wrong - pc= inactivity, although i'm still not sure of it) i realised i had an extra of about 300 cal/day which i ate!!! and put on 3 pounds... in 2 months, now i log pc hours as quietly sitting doing nothing, and eat accordingly i'm maintainig (and lost the extra 3 pounds btw).

anyway, don't trust the estimated burn meter (ha ha ;) ); put down everything u do (i even log 10 min of hair combing :) ) and i promiss you you'll have good results. oh and another thing : never round food grams in " - " like 42 g =40 g and never overestimate activity lev, like 55 min of walking = 1 hour. you'll see you'll do fine. once you've started this you're half way thare, so be brave and do your best (as i am sure u can and will)

kisses

Hi there,

Don't be discouraged, I am new at this and I don't understand everything yet.  What makes you think you did it wrong?  Because I might be doing it wrong also. I just click on the food and enter it in.  I didn't put them under breakfast, lunch and dinner for a few days and then realized that I had too.  But as long as you enter in your food and stay with in your amount each day, does it really matter.   I don't understand how the burn meter works.  I don't understand the numbers.  I have been logging in everything as best as I can.

Keep your chin up and you can do!
