So after losing 40 pounds, my butt just disappeared into thin air (no pun intended)....is there anyway to get it back, tone it up, puff it up?  :(  I just don't look as good in jeans.... :( someone advise please.  thanks in advance.

My butt is always the first thing to go too.....I am down 13 lbs, and I swear most of it left my rear! I know squats can help....but, I was thinking when I get down to my goal weight, I just might get one of those padded butts shaper thingies.....Have you seen them? I figure it's pretty much like getting a push-up bra.....so I have no issue with helping myself out there!
Ha ha, I have the same problem! I read on another thread that bulgarian split squats can help build up some of the muscle to make your butt look bigger. I just started doing them last week (and could really feel it in my butt too). I am hoping this will work. If you search "bulgarian split squats" on google, there are some good links with pictures.
My sister built her tush us with the glut (sp?) machine at her gym, only took her about a month, 'course she wasn't dieting , I don't know if it's harder to build muscle on a diet.
I feel your pain... I have no tush left either. I also have no hips anymore. In my case, it wasn't  just fat loss; it was the focus on running that did it. Running has a way of making your butt disappear completely.

In the past, what's worked great for me is squats and lunges, particularly when doing lunges on a step, and with some weights. You also want to add in some side-to-side exercises, if you want the most well-rounded butt. Notice for example that ice skaters and soccer players have gorgeous butts... that's because they do a lot of side-to-side movements.

On the plus side, if you've lost all the fat on your butt, you'll notice improvements very very quickly. In 6 weeks you could have a nicer butt.

I also need to get my act together and start doing this myself! I know it's possible because long ago when I was into weight training I had a much nicer butt. It's funny because I was just talking about this exact subject with my girlfriend last night. She wants to reduce her butt, I want to build  mine back up a bit...
I know how you feel! My friends have always commented on my big butt..it never made me feel good, but still. Now everyone comments that I don't have a butt at all! I want SOME of it back! lol
Anyone want mine?  I figured if I give up one cheek, the other will slosh over to the other cheek and create a nice little tooshie instead of a still-stome-what-on-the-big-side butt.
thank you everyone for their replies....i will definitely keep your suggestions in mind, and definitely a little bit more hopeful ...

oh and by the way, team-malone -- my sister actually bought one of those butt support, hehe, but i've never tried them, maybe it's about time.
honestly your lucky its just your butt.. my boobs have gone too HAHA :/ actualy its rather not fnny atall and i want them all back:( yes i would try eating more and try tone up and doing excersize.
I wish my butt would go...but sadly I think it's the muscles that are built up on my butt as opposed to fat.
I have a naturally tiny but, and I love it. It makes me look skinnier. All you need to do is look at it in the right light. :)
I have the same problem..... my butt disappeared and my boobs went with it. My triple Ds are now Cs. :(  But hey, the extra chin went away as well, and so did "some" of the spare tire - I gotta focus on the positive. I lost 100 pounds; I'm healthier in general. It's just too bad that you don't get to choose where the weight comes off sometimes!!! :) Kris

I found these online. Hope they are helpful. I am going to try the exercises as I am also in search of a bigger butt =P I'm sick of pants that don't fit right.

Exercise using a chair

What Alice has to say

And here are some (barbell, dumbells) examples of the Bulgarian Split Squat which someone mentioned before.
