I've lost 2 inches but not where I wanted to.

My friend came over yesterday.  She's about the same height as me, which until last night, I thought was 5 foot 3.  Anyway, she had to have an MRI recently and they measured her height and told her that she is 5 foot and 3/4!  We stood back to back and according to my husband we are the same size.  My husband measured me against the door frame this morning and I was indeed about 5 ft 1.  I've lost 2 inches in height!!

This throws everything out.  When I was 5 ft 3, my ideal weight around 112lbs which is what I was working towards, now that I'm only 5 ft 1 my ideal weight is around 103lbs.  This does actually make a bit of sense as I still had a flubberdy belly when I was 112lbs but I put it down to having children and I didn't think I should go lower as I'd be underweight.

To make matters worse I just weighed myself and I seem to have put on the measly 3 pounds that I worked so hard this month to lose :(

My goal just seems so far away now :(

I had this exact problem! I thought I was 5'7" but my doctor says that "if I stretch, maybe I could be 5'6" ". I am not short. Hmph!

What time of day did you measure? If it was later in the day, then you probably were a little shorter than normal. I made a very similar post and people said that your spine compresses throughout the day. Maybe try measuring again in the morning?

It was this morning.  So I guess that I'm a wee bit shorter now!

Don't ever adjust your goals midway through.  Continue and try to reach your original goal and then maintain it for a little bit.  Then, come up with a new goal and start fresh.
