I've Started the Journey to Losing over 100 pounds - - -
Count me in, too - I found the site on the 1st. There is so much it's taken me this long to find this thread. My ultimate goal is 108 lbs, which I've broken it down in to doable steps. I'm 50 yrs old, over the years I've gained and lost 20lbs, multiple times. I no longer have children at home so it's a matter of fixing healthy low cal/fat/carb meals for myself and husband of 30+ years, and exercising. These I know I can do, but having support of people who understand where I'm coming from would be wonderful. Yes - I know - I still have to put out the effort, but it's nice to know I'm not the only one.
Here's a thread I think you'll find inspiring!
The people posting have lost 100, or even 200 pounds! I hope that seeing how many members there are who have been successful will help motivate you. These are the people I listen to when I need advice or support, because they really do know what we are all going through.
Welcome to all of you, and Good Luck!
Hi there, I just thought I posted but it looks like it got erased or something! Please count me in too! I'm very new to the chat group thing, but I'd love to offer and get some support to beat this once and for all! After an illness, I gained 120 lbs, I've got about 100 left to lose, and I can't wait to do so!! I have PCOS (anyone familiar) and there's a lot of problems that go along with it if you don't fight the weight gain...infertility, diabetes, heart attack, stroke, and cancer. Before this, I was a healthy girl who danced and toured around with a production show...never weighing over 110 lbs! Well, that was when I was 20, and I'm still at about 240 lbs at 33 years old. I'd love to weigh 150 pounds, but 140 pounds would be the GREATEST! I love this site, and I'm thrilled about having the help to stay strong and do this. 2008 will be our year folks! I've been trying Weight Watc hers points out (no meetings, just points) and have lost 4.2 lbs since January 1st, but I love the Food Log on this site. I'm an ICU nurse, so the idea of balancing numbers and logging things is RIGHT up my alley! My first log (today) looks great, I got an "A" how encouraging is that?! I might just switch to this plan only and see how I do without the point watching in addition. Anyway, babbling on...GOOD LUCK EVERYONE, and I'm thrilled to be on this journey with you all! PS- Where are you all from? I'm from Buffalo, NY. Go SABRES!! :D -Nicole

I found this site yesterday - as a New Year's resolution and finally deciding to be finished with being fat! I've never much done the "chat" or message board "thing" so this is fairly new to me. However, I am in very desperate need of first, losing this weight, second, getting fit and third, putting myself first. All of these things have laid dormant for nearly 25 years. I'm 47 years old, menopaused, and would love to be a new woman as soon as possible but certainly by 50! If you would consider being an accountability coach, friend, etc., please let me know!
