Welcome Godsmissiongal

50 pound loss people welcomed here :)

So is there any thing you would like to change, or add to, talk about ect....

Hi,

I am 5'4" and currently weigh 210 lbs.  I have a 8 month old son and I am in the process of being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.  I have been trying to lose weight for about 6 months and have actually gained 4 pounds.  I am hoping to be able to figure everything out by the end of the year and will be going on a doctor modified diet and exercise regiment.  I will be purchasing a treadmill on the 2nd of January.  I plan on Running on the treadmill 2-3 times a day for 6 days a week.  Plus do some kind of workout video 3-5 times a week.  I need some support and someone I can talk to that's going through the same things in regards to weight.  I am married to a very skinny man that has always been underweight so hes doesnt really understand when it feels like to be overweight or obese.  That is the most humiliating thing to realize that my weight puts me in the obese range and close to the extremely obese.  I HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT!!! I am constantly depressed and have problems being able to play with my son and constantly feel tired.  I want to be able to live my life again instead of feeling like im just a bystander looking in from the outside.  I want my son to be happy and i want to be able to feel attractive to my husband.  PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!

Thanks,

Audrey

Hello,

I would like to join in if that's OK.  I would like to loose 40 lb  but need motivation.  I am in this for the long haul but want to go at at a steady pace.  I have already lost 50lb since I started CC in late March and would ideally like to lose 40-45 more.

Would really like to be part of a motivational group to continue the loss.

Ok, about me ( forgot that part)

I'm a mom of 3 boys Dalston 13, Brandon 8 (step son), Mavrick 4. I work full time as a psw in a nursing home. Right now I weight 178 pounds and I'm 5 foot 3.

I've got 2 realy big challanges fighting agenst me. #1 My Hypo-Thyroid and #2 is my Heart. I have open heart surgery when I was 5 cuz' I had a hole and a bunch of other things wrong. Oh, and with my oldest and youngest I had a c-section and I've not worked on my tummy. ( do you like my tummy pic? .. LOL!!)

So I want to WORK OFF 40 pounds.

My short term goals are --- #1 ...Eat 5 fruit a day, #2...wear just a bit of make up every day ( I just got my hair cut nice) Because if I try to look good I'll feel good and maybe it will help give me motivation to reach my goal ( and that is.... TO LOOK GOOD AT MY HUSBANDS WORK XMAS PARTY ) LOL, and the see my kids grow old :) #3... Use the stairs at work

So I'm hoping to MASTER theses in this week.

I've gotta start small, very very small or I'll stop

Goals for next week Drink water, walk 2 times a week or more 30 min each plus every thing above :)

thats it for now

So we can STOP our little group at us 4 or keep it open for a few more days???

Thank you teenerqm.  May just one more person.  5 should be good and easy to keep up with.  My short term goals are to keep the rice away from me and limit eating sweets to a bite size.  I am a vegetarian and a rice eater.  I grew up eating rice.  I love sweets.  Yesterday my husband brought the pecan pie and I did good with eating just a bite.  I used to exercise a lot but lately I have been very busy at work so I stopped exercising so getting back to it for 3 days/ week is another short term goal.

Hi! I'm Novi. I currently weigh about 208, and I'm hoping to lose about 40 pounds. I'm a type 2 diabetic, so losing weight is about both both health, and sheer vanity. I started at 267, and have been doing OKAY losing weight, but I always do better when I have people to be accountable to on it. My last group just finished, and while I fell a few pounds short of the 20lb goal, I think this longer challenge would be perfect. My goals? Short term, I'm hoping to stop being officially obese - and I'm only about 5 lbs away from that. As for the future? I have a whole dresser drawer full of tops that I bought this summer, but still too small for me. I can't wait to finally fit them!

Rocky - I'm a vegetarian as well, and can sympathize with how hard it is to cut out those carbs when you don't have too many other options available. It helped me a lot to switch from pasta/rice to things that are whole grain, like quinoa, barley, etc. Barley with sauce is similar to rice, but its whole grain, and healthier.

Cool! a vegetarian buddy for me.  Thanks novileigh for the tips.  I will try barley also and see.  I have never done Quinoa so I should try that also.  I have eaten 1000 cals so far and hopefully I will stay within my 1500 cals goal.  We have a lot of parties during the next few weekends to I need to be careful and plan my eating in advance.  I still haven't made it to gym yet.  Have a great weekend!

Quinoa is best when used like oatmeal, IMO, or added to brothy soups... I've seen other recipes for it, but it doesn't seem right... Its sort of like grits (If you've ever had those, for a reference point) but with a very slight crunch... They're good!

1500? Ouch, that sounds... horrible! I have a physical job, plus I work out at home, so I get to indulge a little more... On days when I'm working, I get to eat about 2500, still having a 1000 cal defecit!

Hi all,

Sorry not to have replied until now.  Been crazy with work and Christmas and kids and husband and.... you get the idea.

I am 43 y.o. and I weigh 184-186 depending on the day.  I have lost about 50 lbs since joining cc and want to lose about another 40-45 and the end of next year seems to be a good goal.

I wanted to lose weight to get off cholesterol meds (goal completed:). and to get a lower blood sugar.  That is still a work in progress.

I will add all of you to my buddy list.

I think a small group will really be the encouragement I need to stay on track.

Jen

Jen - Are you diabetic? My blood sugar is generally too low (generally, even after a meal, the absolute HIGHEST is 100, with an every-time-I-check-it average of 82.) But the few times its gotten over 160 have been some of the scariest experiences of my life.

Hi Everyone!  I may have counted wrong but it looks like you all need one more person, is that right?  I'd love to join you guys!

Just in case you all do need one more person...

I'm 21 years old (I'll be 22 in 3 days :O!) and a college senior. I should be graduating with my bachelor's degree in May. I'm currently 5'6" 220lbs. My long term goal is 140. I started CC at 250lbs back in June. I lost the 30lbs with surprising ease, and then school started back :S. Since then I haven't really lost any weight but I haven't gained any either (that's a real victory for me at least IMO)! Now that all the holiday stress is winding down and I'm settled in to my routine, it's time to get back on the ball.

One thing that really made me want to join this group is the fact that Audrey (godsmissiongal) mentioned that she was in the process of being diagnosed with PCOS. I was actually diagnosed with PCOS when I was 13. I would love to have someone else to relate to on the subject. Plus, it's nice having people to relate to on the weight loss goals in general. I don't know exactly why it is, but I am so much more motivated to keep on going when I have other people who are working toward the same goals. When ever I just feel like giving up or when I've had a bad day. I can jump on the CC forums and become instantly motivated again! It's a great feeling.

noveleigh -I have many diabetics in my family and am currently wavering on the edge at 102-105.  The doc is watching me and I am due for another test in March.  That should go nicely with the weight loss progress I have made since the last one.

Jen

PS:  Welcome sakura!  Sorry to be MIA for a while but the madness is now over and I am so ready to get back to a regular routine.

Welcome 2009!

Hopefully everyone is set to go.  My sauerkraut and pork is in the crock pot and already smelling great.

Good luck for the New year!

Jen

Thanks for the welcome Jen!  Well the year has officially started!  Good luck everyone!

Tina

I'd really love to be losing weight right now, but I'm not. I'm at a (horrible, evil, much-hated) plateau that makes me want to binge because I'm not losing anything. Such is the danger of the plateau!

So, do we have weekly weigh-ins or something?
