The Jessica Simpson Scandal
Am I the only one utterly annoyed with this? People are saying just because Jessica Simpson packed on a few pounds that she's now fat. FAT?! Are they f'n serious?! If that's fat then a lot of us are in trouble. Maybe I'm not seeing the same picture as everyone else. If I am though, then this is just damn ridiculous. Wow, she's not a size 2! That does not make her fat in the least bit. I think she looks good. When you have huge knockers like that it kind of balances it out anyway. Lmao.
I first saw this talked about on Perezhilton and with him I didn't expect anything different, then TMZ said pretty much the same thing which kind of shocked me, but not too much. But, what shocked me was when ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT did it. They're usually a little more classy then that. They just tried to say she got more "curvy," but still. I can't believe how blown out this has become because she doesn't look fat in the least bit.
Here's an article on it:

I mean I'm not even a big fan of hers or anything, but as a woman and a human being with feelings I just found this utterly stupid. Like we don't have enough people with body image issues.....

Seriously? In my opinion that's terrible.
wow, i heard about that on the radio. here's what i'm wondering, do you think they are actually mocking Jessica's minor weight gain, or mocking the ridiculous people calling it a "scandal"?
I guess it could go either way. Regardless, I think it's a cruel way to go about it. If they weren't mocking Jessica's weight gain they should have made their intentions more clear.
I just realized it seems like I care about it way more than I actually do...haha.
I just think it was a tad bit extreme.
ha, i totally get where you are coming from. i think this whole thing is ridiculous. i was just surprised that a paper like the NYPost (not exactly the Times or anything, but not the Enquirer either!) would print something like that. i mean, no matter what their intentions were, if i were jessica, or tony romo for that matter, i'd be like WTF?
if i were ronald mcdonald i'd probably be happy about the free plug in the paper.
Original Post by jblarghp:Yeah, that's the political cartoonist in the NY Post, can't remember his name. His gags generally tend to be "cheap shot" type things--making fun of Gov. Patterson's blindness or Paul McCartney's ex-wife having only one leg--rather than focussing on the things the actually say and do, as a sharper satirist would. Shame, because he draws nicely. The crosshatching and facial features have a bit of a Crumb quality to them, though anyone who's read Crumb knows he'd by no means be upset by a woman putting on weight!I was just getting my daily Perez fix when I saw this:

I hate to "bring up old s***" but this really, REALLY makes me mad and sad. Jessica Simpson fans are typically younger women/girls who do not need to feel fat. They're at that prime age when their boobs & butts start comming out as they become WOMEN. I think Jessica looks amazing & beautiful.
Anyone who gives a woman s***for not maintaining a stickly size 2 is insane. Not everyone wants to resemble their prepubescent selves. Some girls LIKE having feminine curves and looking like women.
Men who prefer the unnaturally tiny waify type really make me question their mentality. I definitely wouldn't want to have kids with one. Can you imagine? Gross!
Can I lose weight by walking on the treadmill for 20 minutes twice a day?
You will lose weight if your calorie intake is less than your calorie output. By walking on the treadmill for 40 minutes, you (personally... Read more
