Jillian Michael's detox?

Quote  |  Reply

I saw an ad for this just a few minutes ago.  Anyone heard anything about it or used it?

I am getting back on track to lose my last 10 pounds after taking a couple months off from dieting (I had been meticulously calorie counting and restricting for 7 months, losing about a pound a week, and really felt like my body was telling me it wanted a break). I've been back at it for 2 weeks and, well, the scale hasn't budged.  I'm looking for a jumpstart, which is exactly what the ads claimed that this is.

Thoughts?

If it costs money and requires an advertisement... run.  And, from what I hear about any product bearing J Michael's name... run anyway. Smile  The only way detoxes provide a jump-start usually, is by asking the user to eat next to nothing at the same time as taking the preparation.

Well, her workouts are legit, the theories about metabolism much less so, and the supplements are the generic marginally effective herbs that might cause an extra half-pound of fat loss over the course of a year.

Detoxes are complete bunk no matter who's selling them, if you needed detox you'd know it by the way you were locked in the drunk tank with delirium tremens (needing alcohol detox), in rehab for your heroin habit(drug detox), or in a hospital with an IV in your arm for dialysis and blood filtration(heavy metal poisoning requiring chelation therapy and detox).

There are legit detoxes, but they aren't for sale to the general public and none of them are prescribed for general blah-ness, bloatiness and weight loss.

I looooooooooove her instant single serving protein mixes~!

Guilty as charged.  I'm taking it right now.  I'm also taking her fat burner too.  I know, I know, these are junk, but I've been frustrated with my weight loss stall, plus I just got off of vacation, and I'm eating clean, organic, no processed foods, and 2 workouts a day 3 days a week with a total of 5 days a week, but I just want a jumpstart, gimmick or no gimmick.  Even if it's a bottle of expensive placebos, I think it will help me in my mind.  So far, I have had no stomach problems, no jitters or nothing.  So we'll see.  Maybe she did sell out, who knows, but I would hope, her of all people, if she's going to put her name on something, she will want it to be a good product.

The fact that she came out with a product made me instantly lose all respect for her. Sorry, but weight loss shouldn't need a "fat burner" or any other type of supplement unless its doctor prescribed after blood work. It's called fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and water. Nuff said. I wouldn't waste my money.

I've lost 175lbs, and kept it off for nearly 2 years, and no, I didn't take anything that altered my metabolism. Ugh.

Was listening to Fitcast yesterday - apparently a lot of the ingredients in JM's new products are ones that she specifically identifies as things to avoid in her Master Your Metabolism book.
