So Jillian just came out with this new program called the 30-day Shread. The DVD is only $12.99 on Amazon. It has three 20-minute workouts, each harder than the last. The idea is that you take 20 minutes each day to put in a SOLID workout, and you can lose up to 20 pounds in 30 days! She also has a book that includes recipes and dieting advice to go along with the DVD, but you have to purchase that separately.

I LOVE this program. I only bought the DVD. I'm following my own diet (which isn't very strict, just sensible). I'm on Day 6. I've lost 3 lb so far! I'm already seeing an improvement in muscle tone in my thighs and arms. I can't wait to see where I am in 24 more days!! This is exactly the butt-kicking that I needed to get me motivated and back on track!

So yeah, that sounds like an ad. I apologize. But that's honestly truthfully how I feel about it so far!

Does anybody else have it yet?

I am doing it every day.....I an using 2 lbs weight so I don't think that's a big deal....I am surprised it's only 175 cals burned.feels like more than that.

im almost convinced!!! lol. but im scared it will kick my butt and i'll not think my trainer is worth it!!

I am going to alternate it with the Biggest loser workout DVD so I am not doing the SAME thing daily. I don't know if my muscles can handle it everyday!!!!

what sort of hand weights? i have none so im buying for this video... what do you use the hand weights for... id rather know what exercises you do to know what weights i need... ;)

Its definately a kick butt video, but i wouldn't drop your trainer for it... You can use whatever size weights are comfortable. I use 3lbs right now, mostly for shoulder presses, bicep curls, flies and rows... things like that.

I have a heart rate monitor as well, I haven't worn it when I do the 30 day Shred, but how do I calculate how many calories I'm burning when I do wear it? P.S. I hope it burns more than 175, feel like I'm going to die when I'm finished! Plus that's my only workout for the day.

I use 5 lbs hand weight Jen...and they kick my booty!!!

I added it to my Netflix, thanks!! Laughing

Okay.....after reading all of your testimonials, including my pal msmeg.

I am convinced.....i am ordering it from Amazon today.  Thanks.  I will post back here when i get it and i'm am sure i will feel the same as you all do....it sounds like a kick-ass workout.Wink

Did anyone try workout 2 yet?? I tried it tonight thinking I would mix it up, and IT IS SO HARD!!!!!

I did workout 2 once - I really enjoyed it!  They do kick your butt though!  :)  Can't wait till I can get back to doing it (injured myself; out for 2-4 weeks.  Frown)

I just got the video due to all the response in this forum.  It KICKED MY BUTT!!!  But in a good way.  I don't even want to look at level 2 yet.  I'm going to try to do level 1 for 10 days, level 2 for 10 days and maybe level 3 for 10 days.

My thigh muscles are killing me today though so I don't know how many days I can keep this up.  But I'm going to give it my all.  I did think I was going to DIE while doing this workout and had to stop and get water.  You're not supposed to I know, but man!!  Also, I was breathing harder than I remember ever breathing in life.

This is a great workout.  Jillian is the ****!

I think this may be my next DVD buy.  Just wondering, what's the music like?  Sometimes I find amazing workouts but just get so de-energized by the low-level elevator-music background noise I just turn it off ...

Ok, I ordered this yesterday. I can't wait to try because my exercise routine is getting boring and I know my body is bored. I'm ready to shake things up.

The music is upbeat. I honestly don't really remember what it sounds like though, cause Jillian's talking the whole time! lol

It's exciting to see so many people getting into this! You're all going to help me stick with it! :)

Oh and I decided to switch to doing this every other day, with something else on the off days (cardio). Especially once you get to workout 2, I don't think my body can handle doing it every day!

I just ordered it today on eBay!  I have been wondering what to do about my work outs since they only consist of walking right now and I wanted something that wasn't hard to follow, yet still was challenging.

I love that feeling the next day...the one where you can *feel* all of the muscles you forgot about. LOL!!

Have you tried it? How is it?

Hey Girlie its me......

I ordered it last week from Amazon.  I did it last Friday before going to work.  I could feel my abused leg muscles all day.  Come Saturday, I thought I was a cripple.  I'm doing this DVD once a week until I get get stronger.  I like the DVD a lot!  It slammed the point home of what poor shape I am in tho!  I never would have thought that simple jumping jacks and push-ups were beyond my reach.  I will conquer this DVD, lol...but it sure set me straight in quick fashion that I have a long way to go.

At this stage, just being able to THINK I can advance to level 2 is my goal.  I will be on level 1 for a while and I'm ok with it.  When I feel like I'm not going to die and I can push harder and do most of level 1 with ease, I'll move up.

I was really glad to read all of the responses here.  There is a lot of valuable information and opinion.  Thanks all!  And good luck to all of you, I know you'll be screaming(probably literally, lol) thru level 3 in no time!

I was on the lookout for a hardcore, effective but short workout dvd and I am glad I came across this thread. Just ordered it from Amazon (cost $19 in total with shipping and tax - I live in Canada). Really looking forward to it and I'm gonna try my best to stick with it for the whole 30 days!
