Does anyone own them?
I used to have 30 day shred, but lost it. I used it in the summer and was fun. I was thinking of buying all three of her dvds, but I was wondering if anyone has tried them. And if they were too similar and if i'd be better off buying one or two.

I have them all, I have been a little lazy and havn't started them yet hehehe. I've been doing a lot of other things, but I am going to start soon. I have heard good reviews.
I have done the 30 day shred, once! lol I was sooo sore the next day I could barely walk up our stairs! So it DOES work. I'm cheap though and wont buy the dvd's. I found them on YouTube, saved them and will start using them again next week. The reason I didn't do it again was because I found out just a few days later that I was pregnant. I did, however miscarry a few weeks later and just didn't get back into it. :(
anglsmom - so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I have had one once its not very nice. Hope you are ok!
I just tried the Boost Metabolism one its VERY hard core and I am quite active normally and definately not new to exercise. I found it quite good!
My opinion is that there are better choices out there. I have watched some of the DVD workouts (on Comcast) and thought there were some flaws in the design of the routine, so I tried a couple of workouts myself.
Overall, I was not impressed. Michaels seems to lack some fundamental knowledge about exercise physiology. I am not an expert in designing workout routines, but the workout structure seemed average also.
In the 30 Day Shred, level 2, there was way too much emphasis on abs and shoulders (esp for a 20 min workout) while chest, back and triceps were virtually ignored. There also seemed to be too much use of isometric leg exercises. In leading the class, Michaels doesn't seem all that concerned with maintaining a flow, or counts, or timing--she mainly likes to wander around the room and lecture.
Any workout is better than nothing, and if you are the type to be inspired by Michaels, then I guess these might be helpful. I just don't think this is something you want to form the core of your routine. My heart rate averaged 101 for the entire workout, and I burned 1/2 the calories I normally would doing other exercises.
I just think there are better choices out there.
I got tired of her chatter. It didn't take long to get really bored by Jillian's sarcastic comments.
