I am a hairstylist and I am always on the go, most times I don't get a chance to eat ...then when I'm done I am so over hungry I eat the wrong things..... I am doing better to prepare my foods for work but sometimes dont get the chance to eat once there!

Lol... I have two jobs, both in restaurants. Need I say more? Although one is Lebanese and pretty healthy. I guess thats a saving grace.

I work at a preschool and pack my own food but have a hard time not eating the snacks that they are eating.  And who can stop at one graham cracker?!

yea,

i work in advertising, so I'm on the computer or at least im sitting at my desk the whole day.

I tend to munch on anything i get my hands on because i get very bored and distracted from what i am doing!

I work in an office and pack my own food.  The cafeteria is disgusting and filled with fried foods and vvery few vegetable choices.  That said, I try to drink 75 oz of water while at work, and I try to eat every 2-3 hrs.

When I am away on business it is not fun.  I find myself dehydrated and glad I pack protein bars.

any advice would be greatly welcomed,

Make time to eat.   Literally schedule it into your day as you would a meeting.  A conscious effort.  Everyone's busy but your effectiveness in the work environment is reduced if your blood sugars are low and your energy levels have dropped.  And you're even more ineffective if you end up in hospital suffering from malnutrition.  Irregular/skipped meals combined with binge-eating isn't healthy as it puts great stress on the body.   Get some support from people at work as well.  Tell them it's important you have lunch and ask them if they'd remind you or join you.

If what you're saying is that you enjoy the feeling of not eating anything all day & if you're lying to your wife because you feel guilty about that then that's a different issue....  disordered eating is not as uncommon in men as you might think.  In that case, you'd need to talk to your doctor.

I think I will start to schedule it as if I have a client! Thank you for the idea...

Thanks for everyones posts I glad I'm not alone in the eating battle ;)

I a previous job I had to frequently talk to someone in our Paris office.  I made the mistake once of calling at about 1pm and asked if they were available.  "Mais non!" came the rather shocked reply... "It is lunch time!"   I subsequently visited the office on a few occasions and discovered that between 1pm and 2pm the office was effectively closed, all staff would decamp to a small dining area and eat a hot takeaway lunch provided by a nearby cafe.  Now that's the life. Foot in mouth

Funny how different we work here... go go go all the time ...work work work... No wonder we are all stressed out about everything!!! even food!

There's an excellent book by Mireille Guiliano called 'French Women Don't Get Fat' ... and the leisurely lunch break is part of the secret.  Worth a read.  Personally speaking, I never let work get between me and a square meal.  Life's too short, work is always with us and, besides, I get very grumpy when I don't eat regularly.
