Jogging In Place
How does jogging in place compare to jogging outdoors or on a treadmill? Does it burn as many calories and work the same muscles?

I would say that the difference is that outside there is resistance (hills), which equals more muscles worked and the treadmill keeps a certain pace, which means more calories burned.
While you're jogging on the spot you are forced to keep a pace by yourself and there is no resistance. If you are using a heart rate monitor it might be better because you can keep you heart rate at a certain level. You can also try jogging up the stairs in your house or apartment building.
Otherwise the best thing to do is use a treadmill or jog around the block. It's just a better workout and easier to monitor.
Good luck
