I jog in place for 20 minutes at least 5 days a week. Is this good aerobic exercise? How long should I be able to jog for before I try outdoor jogging?
Answer
Jogging in place is a great high impact aerobic exercise that can raise your heart rate quite high. A 150 pound person place burns 544 calories jogging in place for one hour. You can jog in one place or around the room, kicking your feet really high and raising your arms to increase your heart rate, or combine jogging with other floor exercises in a routine. You can try jogging outdoors anytime because will not be more vigorous unless you jog up hills or on a soft surface like sand.
