I'm in the same boat as you!  I have quit several times and always ended up back at it.  The last time I quit, I did it by doing cross word puzzles.  I know that sounds crazy but it did help.  It relaxed my mind and directed my focus on something else.  Not to mention the pen in your hand that you can stick in your mouth.  I didn't chew on it, just to have it in my mouth for the habit reasons.  I just started the cross word puzzles again so hopefully I can quit too.  I tried the patch but it did nothing for me.  Let me know how Chantix goes and maybe I can talk to my doctor about it too.

I took chantix worked great for me, I loved the dreams which everyone else hated I thought it was cool that I was dreaming and remembering them, I don't normally know when I am dreaming. Anyway I just couldn't handle the nausea, tried taking them before I ate, tried after I ate nothing worked. Besides no insurance at the time I couldn't afford the second month supply the first months supply was sample from Dr office which they stopped doing.

I really didn't see a slow down in how many I was smoking until the second week by the third week was down to 5 cigs a day but husband still smoking and refusing to go out side it was winter here and he works in the cold all day wouldn't go outside to smoke.

On June 23 we went to a hypnosis clinic I told him I had plans for the two of us at a hotel. Once we got there he was acceptable to the whole idea and tried it. Wed we still smoked one thursday we had heart to heart conversations about me and my emphysema and  he smoked his last pack on Friday I nursed a pack since tuesday till well I still got 6 cigarettes, I had none on Saturday, one on Sunday, and One on Monday, I am wanting one so bad now Eating lots of Candy and listening to hypnosis Cd's.

I Need lots of support.

Good Luck Cathy

I have responded to you before...Me and my husband quit with Allen Carr's Easy Method. He has a book, web-seminars, audio books, and classes...you should check into it! I know at least 10 people that quit with it, and it certainly worked well for me! And honestly, it was remarkably easy! I know, I know...I am only 26, but I had smoked for 13 years, a pack or more a day, and actually thought I liked cigarettes (CRAZY I know)....Anywyas, good luck!
