Hi I am gluten intolerant, and have been off gluten for 5 years. It amazes me how differently the symptoms of gluten intolerance can be. Mine were sinus migraines and very painful stomach cramps depending on what I had eaten. I now am migraine FREE and it feels so good. I too find it hard to loose weight on this diet, mainly because the the gluten free subs are very low in fiber, and higher in calories than the whole wheat counter parts. I find it best to avoid any gluten free breads, cookies, deserts. Just like with a normal diet, I stay away from high calorie foods. For a starch with my meal I stick to potatos, Quinoa (really good) Brown rice, but I eat it all in moderation. I treat myself to bread once in a great while. My bread of choice is "whole foods" brand, they have a few flavors and all are really really good. It is the closest thing to real bread that I have found, and believe me I have tried a lot. Thanks for starting this group, I hope we can pass alongs some helpful informative tips. :-)
