Hello, I just joined the forum today. I'm in the US Army currently deployed. I've been in Iraq since July and will be here until Oct 2009, one year to go!!! I came here weighing 210lbs and I want to get down to about 180-185. I told my youngest son (14) I'm going to have six-pack abs when I come home, he doubts if I can do it.

On Sep 1, I started seriously working out and watching what I eat, so far I've lost 10lbs. I came across calorie count today and figured I would join for advice and encouragement. I will keep everyone posted and submit pics. Speaking of pics how do you post them?

Good luck on your journey to a new lifestyle of eating.

to upload pics..............

make sure you are at you home page, and do the same thing you did to upload the picture you have of yourself.  Once you have browsed and uploadedthe pic from your hard drive, it will put it into your gallery.  You can add and change them as needed, if someone clicks on your profile, they can browse your picks.

As for CC.........

This is a wonderful place to get advice and encouragement, if you have a question, post it in the proper forum, otherwise you can search the forum and 9 of 10 times you will find an answer.  Someone else most likely asked the same thing at sometime.

Us the food log, use your journal, all of this will help you understand what your body is asking for, not what you think it needs

I'll race you to the six-pack (and not the beer!) ... 

I just joined a couple of days ago, so will introduce myself as well; I'm about 5'7" weighing in at about 167 ...  not too bad, but was in great shape a year ago when life threw me a couple of major curve balls.  I ate a ton of fast food in the last year an packed on 10-15 lbs mostly in my gut.  I've started training again (Krav Maga and MMA) and decided to clean up my diet - Came across this site and love it!

You're doing important work over there CWO - Stay safe!
