i joined the other day, to see if i realy can get down to 9 stone 2 - my goal

They started to say i should have 22 points (1350 cals, 10g sat fat) and i said stright away i work out too much to be on that and i dont want to put weight back on when i go back to 'normal' maintanace cals - for me 1700/1800/
So i  was reacessed and was givin 25.5 points which is 1600 cals and 10g of saturated fat.

the minimum they say is 18 points, which is 1100 calories and 10g of saturated fat. I would NEVER go that low

the max is 40 points which is 2620 cals and 10g saturated fat.

I found my leader motivatiing, and the group motivating too but i found her advice too simple and slighty off sometimes. Someone asked about eating sugary foods and staying within points, and if she could lose weight that way and the leader said yes you could (no calorie is a calorie arguments to start now!!) i thought that was a bit off to be honest, but at least she covered herself at the last second by saying "but we dont want to eat chocolate when we want to be slim" lol

I go for the atmosphere realy, and the weigh in... and ifim honest because my mate who wants to lose 40+lbs wanted me to go.. HERES one thing i dont get.. she said she doesnt count caloires... now.. whats WW and Points? DUH lol she makes me angry sometimes! I tryed helping her before.. i can tell her everything WW can!!

Thanks for the information. Good luck too.
I lost a lot of weight doing WW. I did the at work program and liked it a lot better than the meeting center. I am a lifetime member but a little too embarrassed to head back right now. After I got married I started adopting a lot of my husbands bad eating habbits and well now I am heavier than then when I first started WW. I understand the point system pretty well but it is a little too flexible for me. I would cut out a lot on the good food so that I could have ice cream almost every night. or eat too much of the free foods (worth no points but still have calories) I lost weight but the sugar and sweets would increase my cravings.

If I remember correctly, you start with a set point range for how much you weigh. You can earn activity points for working out and add then to your daily point range. They may have changed things a little since I last went. They always seem to.

In My opinion, once you learn the point system, it is easier than counting calories. I would just do it in my head. 50 calories is about 1 point (not considering the fat). But I am doing it this time by counting calories. My biggest success comes from the tracking anyway, which ever way I do it.

I'm doign WW online. I did attend meetings for awhile, but just wasn't motivated enough by it to pay. The thing about WW is higher fiber foods can lower the overall point value.  Good reason to get your fiber. I weigh myself weekly and am having a bit of a crisis. How does water weight work?
How do you mean how does it work? as in when does it go and whatever? The mre water you drink, the less bloated you get. But it cant be helped normaly in the week before TOTM

I think there is a reason the people in my WW class arn't motivated to well, ours is at 7pm at night.
Now i was on TOTM when i went last week so i was heavy.. BUT this week i had apprently only lost one pound because i ate before i went and exercised. And i KNOW i have lost 3  pounds (135 now) so i was pretty gutted........ But i feel  it encurages people who attened, not to eat all day AND then eat loads when they get home!!
The WW meetings around here for the longest time was at 9pm who wants to go to a meeting that late when you have kids a hubby and alot have jobs to get up for early in the morning. So they did change it to 7 recently i heard but I havent been back to meetings or doing the ww thing for at least 4 months now> I seem to be doing fine just on my own without there motivation and cc has helped me alot. Im cheap if i can figure a way out of not paying money and still learn the right way im all for it.
I went to WW three years ago when i was 18, and was there for about ten months and lost 50lb. But after xmas i stopped going to meetings and gained it all back... and more.

Rejoined in may, so far I've lost 23lb, and will NOT miss a meeting this time. Its the weigh ins i find most motivating, not the actual meeting, seeing the numbers drop in my book thing is the best feeling ever :)
