Jonas Brothers say Posh has the perfect body. Sending wrong message to impressionable fans?

Ok,  I'll admit, I like some of their songs such as "Burning Up" and the "Year 3000" because they're so ridiculous and they do all these silly groans designed to make girls swoon.

But did they have to go and say emaciated, fake-breasted, "thinspiration" icon Victoria Beckham has the perfect body?

I'm sure that this is going to affect their fans, making them feel like they have to lose weight so that the Jonas Brothers will love them.

This is why children aren't meant to be famous. -___-  Teenage guys are under as much pressure to LIKE thinspo models as much as girls are to look like them.  It's a shame that three impressionable teens are going to make up the minds of thousands of preteen girls, but hey, that's modern day media for you.

Let's just hope the parents have some sense and talk to their Disney-obsessed kids about it.  Yeah, right.

They may be rich and they may seem to be nice guys...but apparently when it comes to thinking about what they say before they say it they do not when it comes to this case....

Well when you're rich I guess you don't need to think about what you're saying as that acquires a few brain cells and in their case a good check on their eyes.

All the men I know seem to think that she's the most un-sexy woman going.  "It'd be like shagging a bag of spanners" says my non-PC Yorkshire friend, possibly a little too graphically. 

Teenage pop-stars like silly-headed, skinny women ....? Didn't they always?  

Aren't we due for a resurgence of feminism some time soon?  Can't wait.

I just wanted to pop in to say my two cents:

Jonas Brothers? Puke.

Posh? Double puke. Probably literally.

:) Not that they're necessarily all-around horrid people...but from a role model standpoint, I don't think that we should be standing at all; running away would be much more beneficial.

I am so thankful my daughter thinks these guys suck.  And she is only 4!

That's completely ridiculous. So they're idea of a woman with a perfect body is a woman who's basically anorexic and has had implants ? 

Wow, I really question their judgement on that one. 

Well. Regardless of what they say, the Jonas Brothers are worthless. It's sad though because there are so many mindless teens/preteens who worship those guys and think this is some further affirmation that Posh's body is both attainable and ideal. :(

Yeah, the Jonas Bros. suck and all that, but I guess they're entitled to their opinions.

Hopefully parents will talk to their kids about how there is no ONE perfect body, etc.

um...they said they'd like to "send her into space."  to be precise, they "reportedly" said they'd like to send her into space.  if this doesn't smack of an offhand comment being taken out of context, i don't know what does.

and aren't their fans, like, seven year olds?  what seven-year-old girl would aspire to be like a 35-year-old former pop star, regardless of what she looks like? 

i doubt that this will have much impact on anyone.

I like her, I do think she places too much emphasis on what the media says about her and is thus a little too obsessive about her body, but I am loathe to think how rational I would be under that much negative scrutiny. The Jonas brothers are allowed to say she has the perfect body. I really don't see why we have to get all "omg girls are gonna starve themselves!" If girls do starve themselves to lose weight because they believe one of those guys will date them, there are larger problems there.

Ha, I thought about adding that disclaimer...but I thought "naturally" would cover it. I was just looking at the pic in the article, where she's clearly not wearing a bra (although there may be some sort of tape contraption I'm unaware of). Boobies that defy gravity! YAY!
