Journals - Friends pages and scroll bars

Not sure if this has been happening all along and I never noticed, or if something has changed, but I wanted to bring it up.  Not sure how to best describe it, but I'll try my best. :)

It seems that lately, when I go to my friends' journals page, the individual entries load in sort of a random fashion when it comes to sizes and scroll bars.  Sometimes, I only get scroll bars on the longer entries, which I can understand.  But sometimes I get them on short entries as well.  And then the thing that is most annoying - some of the entries get "squished" for lack of better word.  They only load as a tiny rectangle whose height is that of one line of text.  The scroll bar is also squished, so that when you click the up/down buttons, it only scrolls one line at a time.

Sometimes refreshing the page helps, sometimes it doesn't.  This happens with both Firefox and IE browsers and I've even tried different screen resolutions, so it seems to be something in the way the actual page is loading.  Is there any way to make the journal entries load to a standard size, rather than having them load different sizes with scroll bars?

Hopefully this makes sense...if not I can try to get a screenshot of it and email it.

My problem is a bit different.

I've been absent the better part of 2-3 months.  (Complicated life.)  I came back today.  Wanted to catch up on my friends, so I went to my profile and selected the link to read my friends' journals.

CCplus tells me I have to add friends, first.

The list of friends shows on my profile. 

What gives?
