Juicer/Vegetable Juice Extractor ~ anyone use the Breville model???
~Ok, I have been researching & researching all about vegetable/fruit juicers and am really leaning towards the Breville Elite model: http://www.brevilleusa.com/products/800jexl/i ndex.jsp?sku=800jexl&cID=231&pID=1&am p;pvID=1
Does anyone have this particular one? Any thoughts?
(My budget is about $200 max--I found it priced below this & free shipping)
I am so tired of using a very old Oster from a couple decades ago. It is horrible to clean up & the pulp is not dry enough!
I have an older model, and I think it works great, even after three years of use. Cleaning it is a huge pain, just because so many parts get dirty. But I think they're all dishwasher safe, so if I had a dishwasher, that would help.
Why not eat the whole fruits and veges? You are missing out on one of the best parts...the fiber!
Liquids, like juices, empty out of the stomach VERY quickly and therefore have a very low satiety value.

hi gddrdld~ I'm eating fresh live fruits/veggies everyday. I just like to add in some fresh veggie juice for more nutrients. I easily consume about 4 fresh whole fruits each day & lots of salads, sprouts, etc. :-) I also incorporate the pulp into other recipes (to thicken soups, add to homemade veggie/bean burgers, etc).
Gotcha! Sounds good. ![]()
i've had this one for about 3 years. i'd say the pulp is quite dry; it's a very powerful machine.
cleaning is not that difficult, but does require very minimal disassembly. it comes with a brush for cleaning the mesh filter & that makes cleanup pretty quick work. and yes, if i had a dishwasher, i think all the soiled parts would go in there for washing without any problem.
i find i'm not juicing much lately, preferring instead to eat the whole fruit/veg since i never seem to get enough of those into my diet. if you were local, even though i love the machine, i'd sell you mine :-)
hey thanks for the info. :-) I may also look into buying a used one near me--great idea!
What is the diet for kidney stones?
