Just wondering.....does it really help to juice veggies????

I understand the nutritional value, but what about weight loss?

And....am I the only guy here?

Welcome craig! Here is a few sites for you to read about juicing your veggies. The saying goes, juice your veggies and eat your fruit.

By juicing your veggies, you can take in more veggies in a day and you are saving your system a step in processing it. By giving yourself fresh organic juice, you are pouring straight nutrients into your body and at the same time cleaning your system out! If you are really interested in giving your body nutrients, try a shot of wheatgrass at wild oats or somewhere. IT IS POTENT! But worth it for the health benefits! Good luck Craig!

I must add Craig, that too much juicing is also bad. One cup of carrot juice is equivalent to 4 cups of raw carrots. If you overload your body with so much nutrients, than your body has to work overtime to expell the extra nutrients. Since it is such a potent cup of nutrients, sip it, don't chug it. Store bought juice is lacking nutrients. For one, chemicals are added to add color and to preserve it and two, because it is heated, anything heated kills enzymes--and in fruit or vegetable juice, you want to drink those enzymes. Unfortunately, those enzymes go bad after a few hours, much less have a shelf life, hence why companies have to heat it, to kill them. So you are wasting your time drinking shelf drinks, there is little nutrition left in the juice.

Hope this answers your question. Lynette
not to discount anything that ljacobs said-I just want to add to it:

keep in mind that if you juice your veggies, you are getting nutrients. but not the fibre. I myself would try to keep a good balance of veggie juice and the veggies themselves, since digestion of the fibre is what helps slow hunger down.
Exactly choco!!..hence why you don't want to do it all the time. Right on! The pulp from juicing is that fiber, and you do want that occasionally, just like you should occasionally juice too. Find a happy medium for your own body.
How do you get an accurate calorie count on fresh juiced veggies/fruits if the fiber is not eaten?  I juice all the time and have been counting, say, the unjuiced apple or carrot or whatever in grams to get the calorie count.  But that can't be right, can it?  Not when you aren't actually consuming all of that.  I do also eat my fruits and veggies, so I'm not worried about not eating all that fiber, btw.
i love fresh juices, drank veggie and fruit juices non stop in Miami. however back here in london theres only really packaged juices which i have lots of and always try to get the best quality. For fresh juice you are lucky to find orange. The rare health food cafes charge £4+ for a small veggie jucie, i went into shock when i went to a new jucie bar that charged me £7 for a large mixed berry jucie. Shame because i love jucies when im on the go, doing them at home is not really an option as im out between 7am-9pm most days. so if anyone wants to come to london and set up a reasonable priced jucie bar, please hope on a plane asap and ill see you when you get here
