20 pounds by July 31st Challenge!!!

I know this is a hefty challenge, so only people that are serious, want to work hard for it, and wont get their heart broken if they don't meet the deadline!

I'm doing this by eating very small meals throughout the day, getting up early to exercise hard at the gym each morning for at least an hour, and cutting out sugar and wheat.

Just like an athlete trains to get in shape, I'm training hard for these 9 weeks and then I'll slowly back off and add 100 calories per week until I'm at my maintenance level.

It always helps to have each others support!! Want to join me?

Hey! I want to join. I think this is the jump start I needed. I am ready to work it out. When i initially started the process of losing weight I was 225 and within a matter of 4.5 months I went down to about 195! I was working out 2x a day 5-6 days a week, cut out sodas and most juices, and limited most sugars and sweets. I felt great and thought I looked great. Of course I had much more to lose but when you feel good, you feel good. I loved how my clothes started tp fit and the compliments didn't bother me either. Anyhoo, through a hard time and a whole heap of stress I gained it back and then some (the worst part) and now I'm 245. I was in bed last night and I just started to think "What are you doing to yourself?" The more I thought about it I couldn't think of one excuse why I couldn't get my butt out of bed in the mornings and start working on getting myself better.

Like I said, IM SOOOOOOOOOOO IN!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

hi all --- i have started with CC.Com this month. Im 41 yrs old,  5 feet, 118 lbs and goal to shed 12 lbs by july 21st.  I started with 122 lbs and stayed 118 lbs for the last 2 wks. I have been doing some weight lifting 2x/wk and 40 mins elliptical 5x/wk.  Losing weight is not easy --- I know slowly i will get to my goal but sometimes, i feel like it's taking forever - compare with some of my friends who started dieting same time i do -- some have lost 5 to 7 lbs.... and mine stayed with 4 lbs.  oh btw -- we have a game who ever lost % body fats by july 26 will win usd1000.....

I am like Charityjoy --- i would love to give support and receive some support to obtain my goal -----

IM totally IN!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I'm up for the challenge. I lost about 50lbs in 2006 and have gained about 15 of it back. So, I am definitely up to take this challenge. It is definitely easier to do it in a group rather than on your own.

Hey everyone,

First, I'd love to talk with the people who are looking for some help and see if there's something you're missing in your regemin.

Also, on a not so pleasant topic (like weight at all is anyway), a moderator found me and said we have to move our thread over to the Games and Challenges Forum. They should be coming on here and letting everyone know where they're putting it and how to access it... so don't worry! It will be the same just in a different location, we'll all tag it and be right back on track.

Keep your chins up!

I so what to join this challenge. I am a hard worker and I think I can lose 20 lbs by July 31

Ready! Cool

Please can I have in too?  I always seem too late to join up with challenges...

I have family coming to visit in August, and would love to be down to my goal weight by then.

My stats:

Height:  5'1"

Frame:  Small

CW:  134.5 lbs

GW:  115 lbs

I started back up on May 19th and have lost 5 1/2 lbs so far, but I think that's all "water weight."  I'm currently on 1200 - 1400 cals a day (short, small frame) and doing Walk Away the Pounds 5 x a week.  I have 5 children so trying to fit in gym time doesn't work for me, but I can usually find 1/2 hour a day to do my WATP DVD.

I'm excited to do this!!!!  Cool

I'm in.  I had already "made a deal" with myself to get serious about diet and exercise from now (okay, yesterday) and when my family and I head out on vacation July 28.  I think this matches up closely enough.  Smile

CW: 212.5 lb

GW: 150 (but 182 by the end of July would be sweet!)

Tomorrow I'll be taking my first foray into aqua aerobics at the YMCA...  I'll keep ya' posted.

Its time to work it out

CW: 198

GW: 170

Height: 5'9

Have fun good luck!!!!!

Roze here - I'm in.

165lbs

135-140 goal

I'm going camping for two weeks with the Army - no time to work out but lots of bad food - so hopefully not over-eating won't be a problem.

My nerves are shot, my blood pressure is thru the roof.  God help me thru the next two weeks.

I have been using CC since Jan 08 but I am starting to struggle a little with my motivation.  I need a challenge to get me motivated again and I think this is probably it!

Hey everyone!!!

Wow!!! Just reading everyone else's posts has gotten me so psyched lol!! I'm definitely joining this challenge because I think it's exactly what I needed... I have lost about 50 lbs previously and I'm OK with myself at this weight, but of course I would love to be thinner for vanity reasons and I've been stuck at this weight for about a year now because I just haven't been motivated!! My problem area is definitely my stomach... people always look at me and say there's no way I weigh as much as I do because I have a small frame and my arms look pretty thin lol, but then if they happen to see me in a bikini or something it's really noticeable... I guess that my goal isn't exactly to lose 20lbs but just to have a flat stomach!!

I think that 20lbs is a good goal for me though because it's tough but doable and it puts me near the low BMI range without putting me underweight. I'm hoping that everyone can help each other stay positive and stick with this!!!

20y/o, female, 5'8, definitely small frame

CW: 151.1 (weighed myself this morning but will weigh again on Tuesdays with everyone else)

GW: ?? Just want to get rid of my belly but won't go below 125 since that puts me underweight

July 31st W: 131 lbs! I'd be so psyched to get there because then it'd mean I'd only have 5lbs to go (if I haven't lost my stomach already that is!!)

I'm not sure how I'm going to approach this yet.. but recently I've been eating 1200-1600 calories so I guess I'll stay there but do my best to increase exercise (always the hardest part for me!!) by walking 30mins a day. It's a small goal for this week but you have to start somewhere! I'm also considering going low-carb, but I am one of those people who is just in love with carbs... which is ironic because everytime I cut out the carbs I drop weight so fast, but I just can't stick with it and it all comes back right away.. hmm.. guess it's probably not for me then, it's probably better to eat like I normally would and be happy with it than force myself to be deprived of carbs, right?

Do your best everyone!!! ***HUGS***
