LOCKED TOPIC
20 pounds by July 31st Challenge!!!
I know this is a hefty challenge, so only people that are serious, want to work hard for it, and wont get their heart broken if they don't meet the deadline!
I'm doing this by eating very small meals throughout the day, getting up early to exercise hard at the gym each morning for at least an hour, and cutting out sugar and wheat.
Just like an athlete trains to get in shape, I'm training hard for these 9 weeks and then I'll slowly back off and add 100 calories per week until I'm at my maintenance level.
It always helps to have each others support!! Want to join me?

Maddie - I'm also working towards doing a triathlon, but it's not until next April. Any words of advice from others out there on getting a bike would be great as I also don't have one.
I'm afraid I didn't get much for loss-age this past week, but I'm back on track now and hopefully the scale will have more to show for it tomorrow. I've upped my cardio a lot. Runnin in the 95 degree Florida sun is not so hot (haha). I'm lifting 4x/week, cardio 5-6x/week. Cardio usually consists of a 3 mile run/jog (30 mins). Some days I also play soccer or softball (which i don't consider a workout). I swim laps maybe once a week, and hit the gym for extra cardio whenever possible. In other words, I'm gettin addicted to working out...or, at least, trying to be an exercise addict.
Calorie intake last week went up to about 2k for a couple of days, but I think my body was adjusting to the newer routines I've been doing. Back down to my usual 1500 or so now and today I saw the scale drop a bit.

with that, i'm kind of disappointed because the past two days i havent lost weight since i havent been sleeping properly (studying!!) :(
WOW!
i weighed yesterday, late in the day and had lost a few pound in first 6 days, but today as its officially end of Week One i weighed first thing, same scales at local chemist.
result is i am well happy, despite being unable to do mutch exercise as on crutches i managed a week of A's on the analysis and was within the calories allowed per day without starving myself. result was i losr 7pound or as we anglo-saxons would say half a stone lol
Geoff
Congrats Geoff!
So I did my 3miles this morning once again. It is day 6 and I will just count this as the end of Week 1 since its weigh-in. I am still 248. I am not stressing it though because like I said it was that "time" and of course there is water weight and weight gain ( went up to 251 but lost the extra 3 lbs - yay?). It sucks! But I know that next week I will see a change since I have been walking in the mornings and I just started doing kick boxing in the evenings (my fave workout).
Good luck everyone on their weigh ins!

Yes! Two pounds!
I see that a lot of you out there are happy with your first week, too--whether you lost two pounds or zero. So keep up the good work! It's about feeling happy and in control of what you're eating, too.

Hi everyone!
Is this the right place to post my weight this week for weigh ins?
I haven't weighed myself yet... I know it's not going to be accurate now. I got up this morning to run and workout and forgot to do it. Now I am at work and won't be able to weigh myself until tonight.. oh well. I will post my weight later when I get home.
Good luck everyone I hope you are all making great progress!
Ugh! The scale has not budged for me...but I am going to stay positive and optimistic because I had a really tough strength training day this weekend that I am still sore from. so I will go ahead and assume that I am still retaining some water from that and/or I have built some muscle mass. Staying positive for next week's weigh in!!
gongrats lovelymom23 and Geoff
keep up the hard work:)
Good Job Guys!

LOST 3.5 POUNDS IN A WEEK
Don't let the scale get you down it took me 3 weeks to see a change in the scale but my flab sure is alot tighter now and my clothes look great on me
I'm excited about my loss :)...although i don't know my real starting weight, because I started my diet/exercising a week ago (monday 5/26) but didn't weigh myself until friday night at which point i was 149...saturday/sunday morning i was closer to 148, which is what i guestimated my starting weight at...so i'm telling myself i might've actually lost more than 1.6lbs :P
but congrats to everyone else for working so hard...we can do this!
I didn't lose any weight this week, but I did lose inches. So...I am going to consider it a win!
