**The July 19th bikini club!**
As seen in our previous posts, we're a group of people who all have the same goal. To lose 30-40LBs by July 19th. Some of us are getting married on this date, going on a trip, for some of us, we just wanna look good on our birthday, and some just want to feel healthy!
Me, I'm going to wear a bikini, for the first time, for mine and my honeys anniversary!!
This is our little nook in this community to talk, rant, get advice, and get motivated!! Feel free to join in if you have a similar goal!
So July 19th is the day, guys.
READY?
SET?
GO!
Reason: Moving to Challenges; contacted OP
Hi,
Well July the 19th is my birthday, and i'd love to shift 30lbs by then.. I don't think i'll be wearing a bikini though!!
Hi there! Can I join you guys? Sounds perfect to me. I'm 5'4", 154 lbs (lost 8.5 lbs already), looking to shed at least 30 more. And it would be lovely to get it done by July 19. It's not my anniversary (it's August 6), but I'm dying to be able to wear a bikini when the hubby and me go up north in July!!!
My name is Aga, I live in Mississauga, ON, Canada, and I'd love to join your club! What do you think?

Some things I've done just to get started (just copied this from my old forum):I've started taking vitamins. Omega 3-6-9, ginseng, chromium, and calcium. I'm going to get some Vitamin D as well. I carry a full water bottle with me all day, Ive cut out all junk (although a treat now and again can never hurt, right? :P) And I went from 3 meals a day to six small meals. I started this site and I don't "officially" start working my butt off (literally) til Monday. I'll be keeping track of all my food and weighing in once a week. Trying to keep myself as educated as possible and working hard.
I used to be a track runner (3 years ago...sigh) and I stopped running when I graduated so I really want to start running again. Not so easy to just GO for it, (quit smoking new years eve - so far so good) but I wrote up a plan to start easy and keep working until I can run like I used to. Not so much for the weight loss, but that's an added benefit.:P
What about you guys? ![]()

Hi! I'm totally up for joining this! I have a CC buddy, but this would be great too :)
My name is Noka, I'm 22 and I live in Munich, Germany (originally from chicago). I stopped working out when I first moved here (lack of time, money etc) So, I joined a gym 2 months ago and now am completely settled in my apartment and job (Moving is expensive!) I didn't really start gaining weight until September or so, when I started an office job, so not much moving around.
I used to be a fitness instructor in college...sigh. 5'3 or 5'4, i think 165 or something, i don't have a scale but will be getting one. I want to lose about 30 lbs (which my bf thinks is crazy).
My roommie and I planned a trip to the Côte d'Azure in the French riviera as motivation to get skinny in the summer. I mean, being fat in the winter is ok, but in the summer is terrible. So, I don't want to be fat, sweaty and miserable while all the models are running up and down the beach...no thanks.
Didja know?
Grapes contain a potent cancer-inhibiting compound called resveratrol. It is shown to block the development of precancerous and cancerous growths. This is found in the skin of the grape, (And therefore is present in wine too!)
SWEET!
Hi everyone. I am getting married on July 19th....eek, so soon!! I am currently 5'4" and 168 lbs. My goal weight is 135, but I am hoping to be in the 140's on the big day (I don't want to be too ambitious, I haven't been 135 since high school). I am trying to set smaller goals as well. I am hoping to lose 10 lbs by March 13th, when I am going back home to do some wedding planning (We are from Seattle, which is where we are getting married, but moved to Texas last April). What is everyone doing for diet/exercise??
I have some health problems so I can't exercise too madly, but hubby bought me an exercise bike and i've been doing 30 mins a day ( split into two 15's) 6 days a week.
Diet wise i'm on 1400 A day, i've already lost 35 lbs, and have around 50 lbs to go... struggling at the moment as I seem to have reached a plateau, but i'm hoping the exercise will help shift the weight again...
I work out about 3-4 times a week.
30 minutes cardio, then about 30 minutes on machines and 10 minutes abs and stretching.
Wow! Congrats Sairny on the 35lbs lost! soon2bewed, we're def CC twins.
I love this date!
July 19th is my wedding date - I am hoping to lose another 50 lbs. I am down 15 from when I started a few months ago.
I am trying to eat between 1200 to 1400 with veggie munchies all day long (I swear I feel like I am eating every 2 hours). I have 2x a week of weight/circuit training and the rest of the week I try to get my sorry ass to the gym for a couple of step classes and some time on the treadmill. I am hoping I can start to do some running and participate in fun runs that happen in the city once the spring comes - I can only run about a mile right now and I have to get up to 3 to be able to participate.
The hardest thing for me is staying on schedule during the weekend, when I feel like there is no structure compared to my work day.
Oh yeah - and I plan on being in a bikini on July 21st - on my honeymoon!
Sairny - It can be difficult to workout to your fullest when you've got health issues but your honey buying you a bike is pretty awesome. What a sweetie! You seem to be doing amazing so far, CONGRATS on how far you've already gotten that's amazing! so glad you joined our group :P
nycbride - Wow - so many weddings and anniversaries on this date! Im really excited that Im not the only one who want's it GONE by the 19th! The weekend is the hardest for me too. AUGH! (must not pour glass of wine...must not pour glass of wine.)
Congrats on the wedding and the decision to join us!
wooooooo! K so guys, all this talk about dieting is making me hungry,
haha
Thanks stellar_mich, I am really excited, but definitely nervous as well. I am already having nightmares about trying to put my dress on the day of and finding it's 3 sizes too small!! There is a picture of it in the gallery (not with me in it, I wish!!)
I am currently trying to eat around 1350 calories a day, but I have a question, has anyone tried calorie shifting, where you eat like 1000 1 day, 1600 the next, and so on? I am kind of intrigued by it, but I am not sure if that would get my body all confused (would I get extremely hungry on the low days?) Has anyone tried it?
Ok today isn't a scheduled workout day for me but I am going to take the dogs for a walk, be good everyone!
PS Noka-- YAY Twins!
Good luck, everyone!

Okay... I'm in...
July 19th will be my 36th Birthday. The following weekend we will be at a "ritzy" wedding (the son of my husband's boss & all the higher ups from his company will be there)... I'd like to make a better impression than I did during the holidays... (a smaller indention in the sofa cushions)... I have my cousins wedding in October and 3 kids that I am running around with. I'm admitting that today I weighed myself... The last few days I've been feeling lousy... so I'm ready to move and do what I must to be a healthy parent and teach my kids the better lifestyle and habits before they learn bad ones. I've got at least 40 lbs to lose and I'm in need of some support... I'm ready for a good challenge.
I will weigh in tomorrow to log my official Start Date Weight (for this challenge)... and just edit this post so that I can track my progress.
Starting Weight: Jan 26th: 188.1
My Weekly Exercise Challenge: 150 minutes a week (25 minutes a day minimum with a few days to rest or try something more moderate) Today I did step aerobics for 25 minutes with about 15 minutes of floor (leg lifts etc) while my kids giggled and annoyed me... (Okay, they are 5 1/2, 4 and 2)... I can't get mad..
My Food and Exercise Journals will be updated daily...
and I will Drink more Water and ATTEMPT TO CONSUME LESS SUGAR!!!
I am going to add EVERY ONE from this forum to my buddies.... please help me keep my butt on track... and I'll help you too.
Hugs...
Suzanne.
So excited that everyones goal date is the 19th. It seems there's so much going on on this day.
Hopefully all that will be going on for me on the 19th of July (me and my honeys anniversary) will be a beach, a glass of wine, and lotsa love! (oh, and me fitting into a bikini!)
I would definitely like to join! My birthday is July 17 and that is as good a reason as any to set a goal date for (even if it's 2 days earlier).
My starting weight was 195 and my goal for July 19 is 165.
welcome erin.
we can celebrate all week.... Thursday, Friday...
and SATURDAY, JULY 19TH
