July's 100 Mile Walk

Okay, time for another 100 mile walk!  Other distances are welcome (last month ranged from 50 - 175).

Just so you know...

100 miles = 3.2 miles per day

50 miles = 1.6 miles per day

I keep track of my walking through http://www.mapmyrun.com/ , but you can also use a pedometer as well.

Post your mileage whenever you like, and we'll support and motivate each other to keep it up! Good luck everyone!

I haven't added an arm challenge for the month.  We can continue with the planks or start something new.  Any suggestions?

Here's to a new, strong, productive month for all of us.

7/3 - 3 miles / 6 miles total  || goal: 200 miles / 194 miles to go

This does not bode well.  Day 3 and only 6 miles walked (that’s only 2 miles per day average).  This long weekend is away visiting family with very little, if any, real opportunity to walk.

Heat, mosquitoes, incessant and incredibly annoying horse flies, and a mom who likes to see me eat, is going to make this a challenging weekend indeed.  I won’t be back home and with my normal routines until the 6th.  That will leave me only three weeks to meet my very high goals for walking, rowing, and weight loss.

This will be an interesting month with all my challenges.

Did another unexpected 4 miles after supper last night.  Today:  1 mile this morning and 2.6 miles this afternoon for a total of 3.6 miles today.  My new totals:

87.99 miles - 4 miles last night = 83.99 miles to go

83.99 miles - 3.60 miles today = 80.39 miles to go

I expect my miles to slow down this weekend, we have a 3-day weekend for the holiday so I am hoping for 3 miles each day.  I am still trying to figure out the whole weight-loss maintenance thing and since I just polished off a large bowl of ice cream I am a little freaked out at the moment! 

 

Two and a half miles this evening. 12 push-up/planks this evening.

No freaking out allowed Laughing.  Even if you run into problems while you're learning how to maintain, you can always revert back to weight-loss for a while; at least until you get things figured out.

7/1: 3 miles

7/2:1 mile

7/4: 5 1/4 miles

Total: 9 1/4 miles/75

Still at my maintenance weight of 145, even after my jinormous bowl of ice cream!  I guess there is room for an occasional treat if I keep up my exercise! 

Today:  4.93 miles total

80.39 miles - 4.93 miles today = 75.46 miles to go! 

I am happy with my progress...after so many years of being overweight and inactive, it feels so good to reach a goal and then continue in a healthy lifestyle.  Believe me, if I can do it, YOU can do it!!

Thunder and lightning and downpours today.

A mile and a half this afternoon (before bad weather). 12 push-up/planks this evening.

Wednesday 7/1 = 3.26 miles + 1 mile = 4.26

Thursday 7/2 = 3.50 miles + 1 mile = 4.50

Friday 7/3 = 3.26 miles

Saturday 7/4 = 3.26 miles

Sunday 7/5 = 3.26 miles

Total 18.54 miles   and  81.46 miles to go!

Ah, back from a long weekend of camping...with a little bit of walking thrown in.  I'm up to 15.97 miles out of 100.

I'm in again, but this time just 100 miles.

7/3 - 3 miles

7/6 - 6 miles

9 down - 91 to go

7/6 - 12 miles / 18 miles total  || goal: 200 miles / 182 miles to go

No miles today, but 12 push-up/planks this evening.

12.5 miles and 72 push-ups total

Added another 4 yesterday

Total: 28.8

7/7: 2.5 miles

Total: 14.75

Another day with no official walking - just push-up/planks.  While I'm pleased about the push-ups, I need to get my butt in gear about the walking.  It was my dad's birthday, so big dinner out tonight.  I'd really like to know how the restaurant makes steak have twice the calories it has at home.  Except that I kind of don't want to know.  It was *good* though!
