Welcome to the **July** Challenge!

If you’ve participated before, welcome back for another month!  To all those who have not done this challenge (or any other) welcome aboard newbies!

The challenge is pretty easy & does NOT require a long term commitment.  You pick a goal weight, and post your progress each week.  You are NOT in competition with the other challengers—in fact, you are encouraged to cheer each other on.  This is about having a reason to stay motivated throughout the month’s weight loss journey and having a place to post your progress to help you stay on track--some "extra" accountability for your actions because you know you aren't the only one who will "see" the results.

We'll have 4 weekly weigh-ins in July.  I will not put weight data on the spread sheet until you report your weight info for the first weigh in.  Our weekly weigh-in dates are July 3, 10, 17, and 24 with a final weigh in on July 31, 2009.

Weigh-in days are on a Friday...I did this because we started late for July and because some people do not prefer weighing-in on weekends. I personally could care less, I'll weigh on any day of the week; but, it's nice to switch it up every now and again.  

I will normally post results by Tuesday—I will NOT email you to remind you to post.

No change, but I’m actually not disappointed about that at all.  However, I think I might update my goal weight to give me a little bit more a challenge in this last week.

Looks like I won't make my goal.....what else is new!  I have yet to make a goal in a challenge!  I'm not even back to my start weight!  But I AM losing once again, which is a HUGE + for me!  YAY!!!!!

Wow!  July has been a great month for a lot of you!  Way to go!  I look forward to seeing the results as they roll in for tomorrow's final July weigh-in.  

I apologize for not quite being on top of the results spreadsheet.  Though, at least I was honest at the beginning in telling you all that I may not be able to swing getting it done.  Truth in advertising? Tongue out

My birthday was on Monday....July 27th.  I am now 32 years old! Laughing

In other news, the reason I've not been able to take care of the spreadsheet is because I've been taking two firefighting courses and an Emergency Medical Technician-FR course this summer. All three will finish next week and I anticipate earning "A" grades in all.  As a matter of fact, just this evening I passed my EMT-FR practical skills assessment exam!  Yay!  Just one more written test next Thursday and I'll have my Emergency Medical Responder certification.  Then it's on to EMT school August 24th.  No resting for me!  LOL

Due to my workplace obligations and EMT school, I won't be able to pick up next month's thread.  Would anyone like to host the August challenge?

I'm back.  I was away for most of July.  Not physically, but emotionally, psychologically.  At about week three I decided to rejoin the universe, but the weight damage was done.  It was too late to even think about my goals for the month.  I barely had time to meet my rowing and walking challenges, but the weight challenge is hopeless.

Total weight loss gain:  7.5 pounds.  Wow.  It's hard to believe how easy it was to regain what I worked so hard to lose.  But, no looking back.  Staying focused on the future is the only thing to do.  Ruing on the failure can only fester torment and make things far worse.

I started this little journey at 255 pounds 3 months ago.  I'm now 236.  That's a loss of 19 pounds.  That's not as good as it could have been, but it's better than it was.

On to August, albeit with much slower, more cautious steps; the cliffs are treacherous.  I've fallen down one of them this month.  I won't do that again.
