"Go on Jump"!!! a cruel mob........

This made me so sad and sickened

The police spent 3hrs trying to talk him down to no avail because the crowd below encouraged the lad to jump as they filmed him on their phones.

Surely this is just another form of euthanasia?   He clearly wanted to die to end his suffering and the crowd merely encouraged him to follow through..... albeit in a rather boorish manner.

Of course it's morally unacceptable, sickening and shocking to hasten a death just because that seems to be what someone wants...  in all circumstances.

gi, if you view this as just another form of euthanasia then wow, someone in these circumstances who truly wants to die, does not listen to the police for three hours, they get on the roof and jump! more often than not in these cases it is a cry for help and death is not actually what they want!

But if you feel that it is then you're entitled to that opinion.

Euthanasia to me is people who want to put an end to their life before a gripping illness with one inevitable out come takes over.

clearly, you have never wanted to commit suicide. I'm happy for you. however, I for one am glad that I never succeeded. Suicide is so much more than just wanting to die (although it is that, too) It is desperation, despair, and helplessness. I hope no one is ever as heartless to you if you are ever in such a situation.

gettinghealthy you aren't offending anyone, I think GI was being flippant with me because of another thread on euthanasia, but this and that have no comparisons.

Humanity thankfully still does exists.......we're all still here :)

I'm not talking about humans existing (I think there are way too many of us)... I'm talking about humans that have decency.

This same exact thing happened in Seattle a few years ago if I remember correctly.
