Does anyone else want to join us? 

I went for a walk yesterday and it was really nice to get out in the warm sun. Don't think I'll be walking today though.  My knee is hurting and "clicking".  Drives me nuts! LOL  Even though I wrapped it tight yesterday, I don't think it'll work today.

Hubby is off from work today, so I'll be spending time with him.  :)

Do you mind if I join? I'm planning for the first three weeks, to lose around 1lb/week, then when school ends and I can work out a little more a day, maybe lose around 1.3lbs/wk. So I'll be aiming to lose around 12lbs. If I make it, I should be within 7 lbs of my goal weight.

I am SO in!  My 30th b-day is in July and I'd like to be around 190 (at 207 now and still losing).  I'll chat with you guys on May 1st and let you know where I am.

I'm in! Hope fully by May 1 I'll be at 131, (currently at 133) and I'm hoping to be at 121 by the Fourth of July, so I can enjoy the barbecue guilt-free and have a cheat day in celebration!

We can totally do this. Let's all earn our 4th of july barbecues, not eat them guiltily!


I have a proposal, also: for me, the worst is in the details. It's the little decisions -like an afternoon skipping the gym, or a blueberry muffin at breakfast- that are holding me back. I want us to feel free to, when the urge strikes, vent about it on here. So I'll be writing about blueberry muffins isntead of eating them, and when I'm feeling lazy I'll write a few sentences about why I need to get my ass to the gym. If this becomes too much posting, let me know, but I think we should all do it. It really helps!

My first forum post! This sounds like a great idea and I'd love to take part. I think I'm going to aim for 160 by the end date.

Wow, this is so exciting! I'm so glad I found this place. Losing weight by yourself if so difficult and you all seem so nice! =) Good luck to everybody!

I'm in here as well.  July is the birthday month in my family (not mine though.).  So, I am hoping to tone up and look good for all those inevidable beach parties!

EECHIE ~ I said earlier that we should post whenever we want.  I support that totally.  We should share our experiences to help others and see how everyone deals with the everyday pressures of food!  It's tough sometimes.  And also, there's no such thing (as far as I'm concerned) as too much posting.  :)  Post away til your hearts content!  LOL

Went to visit my MIL today.  Talk about restraint!  It's a hard place to be when you're watching your calories.  But I did ok and didn't eat a bit!  LOL

Okay, I'm in! I'm not sure what my goal will be yet. It depends on what my weight is on May 1.

I actually may be down to my overall goal weight by July 3 -- we'll see. I'm still debating about whether I want my ultimate goal weight to be 130 or 125. I almost feel like I won't know if I need to weigh 125 until I hit 130. Know what I mean?

As background -- I'm 48 years old, and used to be super skinny -- almost obsessively so. So for many years I didn't weigh myself at all and have gotten up to slightly over 140, at 5'4" tall. That may not seem like a lot, but for me, someone who weighed 103 on my wedding day, 140 is a lot. I have NO desire to be that thin again. It was not healthy. But I'm just not sure what will be an ideal weight for me at my age, but I'm thinking 125 - 130 will be good.

 

I would like to be in.  I want to set my goal to 20lbs I am 205 now.  I lost 42lbs in 4 months so I will try for 20 in 2 months.  Sign me up! :)

Guys I just caved to temptation and had a bag of pretzles. It was a 180 cal bag, not the end of the world, but I don't like thinking I'm powerless against the vending machine in the laundry room!

On the positive side, I have not officially lost ten pounds!! (since february) I'm so proud of myself. And I put on an old pair of shorts today, and they were too loose!

I'm alrady at my May 1 weight, so I might re-adjust come next week. We'll see.

Well, after the weekend, I've gained some.  I'm over 180 now.  YIKES!  Today I'll be cutting back, waaaayyyyyy back!  I can't believe I'm over 180.  It's been many, many months since I've seen a number on the scale that high.  Hopefully it's just the amount of salt and the beer I drank and it'll go down in a few days.

Congrats, eechie!  That's great!  I love when my clothes get too big and I have to go shopping for new ones.  It's been quite a while since I've had to do that. :(  Maybe soon.  I have to think positive!

I want to join this challenge! I am going to aim for 10 lbs. I've kinda been stuck lately on the weight loss so hopefully this will get me started up again!

I'd like to join.  Its been a while since I've really paid attention to things, I'm just starting back today as I'm back up to 175.  For the challenge, my goal will be to hit 165.  I'd been maintaining between 165 and 170, but it got out of control recently, so a challenge is just what I need to get me back on path toward 155.

I'd love to play!!!  I'm going to aim for 13 as well.  Born on the 13th...married on the 13th...maybe my lucky number as well!!!  Fridays works well for me too 'cause Saturday is usually my 'higher calorie meal' day...  Bon Chance all...

I've never joined a challenge before but being pretty ambitious and competitive, maybe this helps. ;)

My goal weight would be 45 kg (approximately 100 pounds, I think) but I don't want to go that fast. So for this challenge I'm going to aim for 50 kg. If I make it below, great, if I don't, still great. That should be doable and reasonable. Gee, I can't wait to start. ;)

EDIT: I just saw that this is TWO months, not one. In that case of course, I'll definitely try to get below 50 kg. Yay! I might actually fit into those skinny jeans some day...

I would like to join if it is not too late. New to this, so I  think I want to loose 15 pounds by July 3rd. that would be 1.5 pounds a week. I hope that will be doable...

Team, I screwed up really bad yesterday, went 900 over. How do I fix it over the course of the week? I still really want to be one pound lighter for the beginning of may. my target for starting may 1 is 130, and i'm currently 131. =(

What do i do? Add a little more deficit for each day, or have one really low-cal day?

Rebecca03:  I am 5'4" also, although my high weight was way up at 220.  I am cycling around 145 now.  I know what you mean about 140 for people at our height, people look at me like I'm nuts when I say that I want to make sure I get to 130 or less.  My goal might help you in deciding your ultimate goal weight.  I am planning on getting to a 130 weight goal and then focusing on fitness goals only, not worrying about the scale number.  Just an idea for you to think about...

Eechie:  One day over isn't anything to really worry about.  A lot of diet programs have built in cheat days where you don't count at all.  I would just cut my losses and count normally after that.  Maybe drink a little more water.

Some people do this thing called calorie cyling.  They purposely have high calorie days to stimulate their metabolism.  You may find that the one high calorie day acctually helps you meet your goal. 

Did I forget to mention lots of water?  Maybe an extra workout or two?  (I wouldn't eat too much less.  That could be a recipie for disaster.
