Jumping rope cause any effect on Pregnancy??

Quote  |  Reply

Im jumping rope everyday for about half an hour and some of my friends say that it may cause some problem to uterus, like uterus may dislocate from its normal position.. I know it sounds crazy but still I want to know whether that is true or not.. and also they say when the uterus comes little bit down from its position then there is 0% for getting pregnant.. Im newly married and Hope u can understand how important that is for me.. also I want to continue jumping rope as it is a good excercise to keep my weight in control.. does anyone knows any information about this???

i wouldn't think it would cause you not to get pregnant but if you are i would consider some other exercise to stay in shape. Are you pregnant??

i exercised vigrously throughout my first pregnancy and am doing elliptical with my second( i am too scared to run)

i don't know for  sure, why not google it:)

I jumped rope before becoming pregnant and it certainly had no effect on my ability to conceive. I stopped jumping rope for exercise when I found out I was pregnant because my doctor told me not to do any exercises that required me to jump around or were high-impact. I've not heard anything about jumping rope causing your uterus to dislodge; I'm fairly certain it's held firmly in place by some very strong ligaments and tendons. A quick call to your physician would probably answer your questions.

jumping rope-  the thought of it just makes my boobs hurt!!!  I know when I first found out I was pregnant I could barely stay on any maching becuase any type of "bounce" would send me through the roof!!!  I found out when I was six weeks along b/c i miss my TTOM and wasn't sure where it went!!!

I don't think it would harm your chances of actually getting pregnant; but I don't know if I'd do it when you actually are pregnant.  I would suggest talking to your doctor about which activities are safer to do.  But I worked out like a fiend before I was preggo-  kickboxing, jumping jumping jacks-  everything-  I did this when I didn't even know I was pregnant and everythine is/was fine.

I heard somewhere that a flamenco dancer died because the dancing had an effect on her internal organs since she was always banging her feet on the ground.  I don't know if this is true or not, but it's just something to consider...

You would have to be jumping like 6 feet and comming down really hard to dislodge your uterus! It's pretty flexible! Also, jarring, jumping or sudden stops are very unlikely to hurt your chances to get pregnant.

Blunt force trauma ( Kicking, punching, or something like that) could cause scar damage. I played soccer for about 14 years, and was kicked, elbowed, and whacked with the ball at full force, and I have two healthy boys. But, if you are really concerned, talk to your OB/GYN
