Jumping rope is SUPER efficient!!!
Tonight I was sitting around pouting. Jimmy asked me why, and I explained that I really would like to get some extra exercise in today-- going out for Mexican tomorrow night-- but that I really didn't want to go walking around the block, as it was dark out and I really wanted to stay in. He said I should jump rope. I agreed, but I had no rope. He offered to go get me one, which was incredibly sweet, as he worked much later than me, so I told him that he should relax and I would go buy one.
Target $2.99 And worth even more.
I jumped rope for 25 minutes, doing 20 jumps, resting for about 10 seconds, 20 more, etc. When I logged it on CC, I was so impressed! It burned 209 calories! 209 calories in 25 minutes without leaving the house! How efficient is that?!! Shoot, I might do it for 10 more minutes before I go to bed tonight. Even THAT would be enough calories burned to bother with it!
I lost a pile (about 15lbs to be exact) three years ago by jumping rope. Couldn't afford a gym membership because of being a struggling student so I worked up to 1 hour of jumping with a few breaks inbetween of walking on the spot. Skipping is a insanly good workout...
I remember spending hours and hours at Girl Scout camp jumping rope! It was such a blast. Anyway, I picked up a jump rope at the gym the other day. It was fabulous! I jumped for just about 5 minutes at the end of my routine because I didn't have more time. I'm definitely going to incorporate it into my program! I think just bringing back the memories alone will keep me going back to it!
Great Idea. I am totally going to try that. THanks :-)
