Hiya guys!
I know I can not be the only one out there who wants to join one of those "Lose X pounds by X date!!" but is either too late because the deadline is coming up or they have closed it to new comers, so here I be with a contest of my own, sweet right?
Rules!! (everything needs rules)
1. You must post every week, or you fail!! . . . Just kidding. I could care less when you do or do not get a chance to post, I understand we are all busy, so feel free to post on the weeks you can, but that will have an impact on your chance to win (yes there will be winning!)
2. I really dont care, Ive never been one for rules.
How it works!
Ok so I had to think of a way to make this fun for myself and as many people as possible. From what I have seen people on here can be a bit competitive, and thats a good thing when trying to accomplish a goal, keeps you motivated. So this is what I am doing: Every week I will look through the posts to see who has lost the most weight and list them on this post . . . not enough for you? Well fine, thats where my idea came to me. A prize!
The prize:
The prize is going to be random . . . well sorta random. I am going to go out each week and find some random item and get it. Random criteria: shiny, sticky, silly, other s adjectives, indistinguishable items , anything really. Then at the end of the month I will select a name from the top losers and ship these items out to them. I have yet to decide whether I will document what the items are each week, but we will see.
The selection process:
This is where losing more weight comes in. I will put your name in a hat (or other head shaped receptacle) and draw at the end of the month. Each pound will equal another name in the hat, so do your best!
Oh yeah, one last thing, join whenever you feel like it. I discriminate no one!
I am going to start this on March 5th, gives us 3 weeks of 7 days and 1 of 6 (leading into the 31st for that one) but like I said, start whenever you like, its pounds that mater, not time constraints ^_^
P.S. In case anyone is wondering, no I am not eligible to win, dont wanna gyp no one.

Just wanted to pop in and welcome the two newest contestants Jenstaples and Duranj, glad you guys found my contest to suit you and I wish you both the best of luck!
As for your question Duranj, I started the contest on a wednesday and the first week runs to tomorrow (5th to the 11th) but you can post on a weekly based, on your schedule, or whenever you just have time, like I said above, my contest isnt really about time constraints, so whatever works best for you.

I'm also very happy I found a challenge. I'm looking for one a couple of weeks now and all are either closed and missed them or are way far.
So, I am 130.4 and confused as of today. - Yesterday I was 128(??). Anyway, I want to get to 115-118 by May. I have found myself not trying enough without a challenge and some support. Good luck to everybody and thanks Jeremy.

Sorry but I just needed to share... My starting weight is 130.4 and I said that this time I won't go crazy starving but I will try to lose 1 lb a week for the next 3 months.
I think I need some support. I am so upset because I weighted myself this morning and I was exactly 130.4. I can't believe that I didn't even move like .4 or something. I worked out last night for 1.5 hrs (intense cardio) and I had boiled veggetables afterwards and some prunes and dried apricots. Today I feel extremely bloated and FAT. I just want to be 129.4 on Monday but I don't see it happening. Soooooooo dissapointed.

G1rl79, Dont be so discouraged. If you weighed yourself two days ago and today and are the same weight you might be doing everything right but Ive found that the more times I weigh myself throughout the week the more the scale with move (or stay the same.) I try to stick to once a week (even if I do weigh sometime during the week I dont record it until "weigh in" day) before Ive eaten anything that day and at the same time as the previous week. It makes the scale more accurate. Some times I just gotta know so I will weigh myself throughout the week but thats just my personality. Hope this helps.

Well I kind of cheated this week, (I've had th flu for the past two days) so while I wouldn't recommend it as a weight loss tool, it certainly pulls off the pounds :-{
