June 10 pound Weight Loss Challenge Continued...Lets try for another 10 in July:)

Hi my name is Jodi. I started a June 10 pound weight loss challenge and would like it to continue into July.

My weight loss journey began May, 2009 and so far I have lost 23 lbs. All due to healthy eating and exercise. Having friends to share your triumphs with and support for those unsuccessful times..has to be one of the best weight loss motivators there is. You never feel alone, because there are others like yourself out there.

So lets get together and become a TEAM to lose 10 pounds in July:)

All you have to do is join and weigh in every Monday. Then at the end of July I will post all the ending weight stats:) Come by everyday with your tips and hints for others or just let us know what is on your mind.

I am in trouble this week because my husband spilled water on my scale and ruined it and the new one shows I weigh more than the other one did.  I ate pretty good yesterday so I know that I didn't gain 2 pounds.  Oh well life goes on.

I work during the day and am on call the rest of the weekend so I will  not be indulging.  The perks on my job when you work the weekend you are on call both days all day.

 

 Oops! well I guess you will have to -2 from your weigh in weight. If your husband knows his weight get him to go on the scale and make sure it is off. That is what I do with my kids because they only really gain 1-2 pounds per year. My scale is digital and I am always off anywhere from 1-10 pounds wow. So I invested in the old analog scale. I can't say that my weight is to the decimal point of anything but oh well:)

Good Job in not indulging when on the go..I know how easy that can be:)

Worst week ever... All my kids (3) had a mild case of pneumonia. So I was up all night twice with my son on Monday and Tuesday..finally they are all on antibiotics and doing better. Needless to say I have been so tired and dragging myself around. I have only worked out twice this week and one day I would call 1/2 because I had to stop from exhaustion. I weighed myself today and have not lost at all this week and I don't predict I will lose any in the next two days. Now I know how much exercising helps to shed the pounds:)

imhof, I think that the 2 pounds might just be fluctuation. I know that last night I was 2 pounds heavier than in the morning, and this morning I was 3 pounds lighter... I just need to stop weighing so often! I hope that this is the case...

joditiki, I am sorry about your kids being sick. While you take care of everybody else, don't forget to take care of yourself. If you do not have a loss this week, you will probably compensate for it next week with a bigger loss. Keep up with your good food choices and do not stress eat ( I know I tend on doing that...)

Oh Jodi, I admire you for even trying to exercise with so much going on!! Remember mental and physical stress also prevents weight loss and i am sure you were worried and sleep deprived. Glad your children are doing better and here's wishing you a much better week next week.

 

Thanks for all the support guys:) Yes the kids are doing better and I was able to get a work out in 5mile fat burner walking aerobics. It's low impact and I just make it work challenging by adding had weights and a weighted back-pack. Boy am I feeling it now, but I don't mind it's a pain for a better gain:)

Hello, everyone!

MG and I just completed the 10 lb by the fourth of July challenge. I lost 4.7 lb during that challenge. I figured out that my BMR is 1525 calories/day and for two of the last challenge weeks I was eating only in the 1200 calorie range and exercising hard. One week I even gained! So, I'm hoping that with the increase in calories I eat each day, my results for this challenge will be even better. Because I've joined late, I have three weeks remaining on this challenge. So my goal is 5-6 lb. by the end of July. I like to figure a calorie deficit each day of 750 calories which should equal 1.5 lb loss/week. If I lose more, that's great, but I'm trying to lose at a steady, healthy, sustainable rate for me. The challenge I just finished was my first and I LOVED the support! So, here we go again! We can do it!!

1lb. down, but .5 up from my July 4th final weigh-in for the previous challenge. Mondays are a tough day for a weigh in!

I did a 32 mile bike ride yesterday - CC logged it as a 1300+ calorie burn! So hopefully that will help with the bratwurst and burger and BBQ standards I ate over the weekend. But I stayed away from the desserts, potato salad, margaritas  and beer!

There is absolutely no chance that I am getting on the scale today after the weekend I had. I'm going to wait until later in the week to check in. Congrats to all those who lost and worked hard last week.
