June 10 pound Weight Loss Challenge Continued...Lets try for another 10 in July:)

Hi my name is Jodi. I started a June 10 pound weight loss challenge and would like it to continue into July.

My weight loss journey began May, 2009 and so far I have lost 23 lbs. All due to healthy eating and exercise. Having friends to share your triumphs with and support for those unsuccessful times..has to be one of the best weight loss motivators there is. You never feel alone, because there are others like yourself out there.

So lets get together and become a TEAM to lose 10 pounds in July:)

All you have to do is join and weigh in every Monday. Then at the end of July I will post all the ending weight stats:) Come by everyday with your tips and hints for others or just let us know what is on your mind.

Down to 142 which makes me -1.8 lbs. for the month.  Not what I was hoping for, but better than nothing.  I'm really cracking down this month.

Jodi, are you starting an August thread as well?? Please say yes!

Start of weight loss Journey May, 2009..Weight 264 lbs as of August, 2009..218lbs which= total loss so far of 46 lbs...Smile

I'm a little late but here's my final weigh-in!

6/29 - 160.4

7/6 - 159.8

8/4 - 155.8

This week: -1.7

Total lost in July: -4.6 lbs!

How I lost my weight...Lets see how about we start with a few months before May when I wasn't on any diet at all. I weighed 264 lbs and this is what my diet and lifestyle consisted of.

BEFORE

Diet: Everyday I ate half to a full bag of chips I mean the 200g bags drank at least 6 cans of coke. Lunch would be Mc Donalds or KFC or pizza. Dinner would be pasta, or chicken wings, or steak with garlic bread, deserts would be cheesecake or whatever pastry was on hand. That was during the week on the weekends my boyfriend would take me for dinners and I would always order the richest best tasting dish and we would go for ice cream after.

Lifestyle: Get up. Take kids to school. Come home sit on the computer for a few hours. Go out for lunch pick kids up. Sit on the computer for a few more hours, watch my soaps, take a snooze. Get up make dinner do dishes and some laundry. Have dinner at 8:00 pm eat dessert at 10:00 pm go to bed around 10:30 or 11:00.

AFTER

Diet: 1200 to 1500 calories consisting of fruit, veggies, chicken, fish,  hummus, yogurt and snacks are 1-2.. 100 calorie chips or thinsations. No fried food, no desert, no bread, only whole wheat pitas. Eating out consists of Pita Express and I still have one cheat day of when we go out for dinner, but I order salmon and grilled veggies forgo the free bread and no desert. If my bf feels like ice cream I get frozen yogurt. I drink six bottles of water a day which is ideal for my weight and no juice or pop and I never liked tea or coffee. My treat drink is ice tea or sweet tea which is once a week.

Lifestyle: Get up and take kids to school. Come home and workout for at least 2 hours doing turbo jam, or 30 day shred, or Leslie Sansone 5 mile power walk. I usually do 40 minutes of turbo jam and level 1 of 30 day shred or 5mile power walk and 30 day shred. I try to do two of something and I love collecting work out dvds that I get on ebay for great prices. I just bought zumba so I am looking forward to adding it too my workouts. I am a single mom so no time for the gym or money. Just rotating dvds. Get kids from school and finish my chores watch 1 hour of TV and then it's bed. No late nights snacks and dinner by 6:00 pm if I can't then a lite dinner.

 

Those are my secrets I think the diet is a key, but the magic trick is the exercise:)

 

I have decided not to post the final weights for July because I only really had about 10 troopers who stuck until the end and they have already posted their end weight. Once again thanks team...I will start a new challenge for August and September for those interested:)

Hi Jodi.  You have totally transformed your lifestyle! stick with it and you will be at target in no time.  I wont be in the August challenge as am now just 1.5 lb from Target weight of 146 - a total loss of a stone since 30 June.

I agree that exercise is the magic key.  I increased my classes at studio from 3 a week to 7 a week, and it has helped without a doubt. Good Luck.
