Welcome to the June 2008 Weight Loss Challenge! Signups ended Monday, June 2, 8:00 pm PDT.

Information for participants:

  • Weigh ins are every Sunday. (June 1, 8, 15 and 22, and 29) If you are unable to post on that day, please do so as soon as possible. If you do not weigh in for 2 weeks, your name will be removed from the participant list.

  • Please make a new post for each weigh in, copying and pasting your previous week's info. This helps keep us current, and also bumps the thread.

  • You can also tell us about yourself (your height, start weight, age, goal weight, your program, and so on) to encourage other people to get to know you and maybe make some new friends!

A little bout me:
I'm 5'6", 20 years old. I started at CC in August 2006 (I've been here a while) at 205 lbs. In a little over a year I reached 140 lbs, and I've been basically stuck in that area for a year. I suddenly feel ready to strive for those last 15-20 lbs. My goal weight is 125 lbs, but maybe 120 at the absolute lowest. I plan to have a net 1200-1300 calories a day (consumed calories - exercise) which is about 500 deficit a day, and therefore about a lb a week.

Here's a little about myself.  I'm 43 yrs young, married w/ 2 kids (21 and 15). I've lost 53 lbs since October and 36 inches!  Yep, a whole yard of fat!!!  lol  I want to get to 160 lbs and then see if I want to go lower and how much lower. I've recently cut off 7 inches of my hair as part of my "new me" image! I joined CC on Jan 24th and I really like this place.

I am 28 and getting married in 9 weeks!  I lost 50 lbs before joing this site and and have lost 6 pounds since I joined.  I was pushing a size 16 but am now a size 10.  this site says that my goal weight is 139 lbs but I have a tendancy to keep muscle.  I will continue to lose weight until I am happy with my body and that may be before the 139lbs.  I think I might look too skinny at that weight.  Apparently, according to most people I have surveyed, I look about 25 lighter than my actual weight which is why I believe that it must be muscle weight.  Although, I have lost a lot of weight since joining the site I have lot more inches.  So I am happy wth that.  Here we go june!

I had lost 25 lbs with WW over the past 5 months but hit a plateau.  Tried a "diet holiday" for a while and now am ready to come back from "vacation".  My overall goal is to lose 30 lbs by September 1.

My main problem is that I need to exercise so my other goal will be to exercise 3hours per week. And I just got sick!! Cry

I just need to lose the weight and am here for support. I do good for a week or so and then fall off the wagon. I don't want to fall off this month!

A little about myself: I am 20 years old...I think I'm just about 5'7'' maybe a little shorter.  I just finished my sophomore year of college and I have been struggling with my weight since freshman year. Throughout high school I never worried about my weight because I was very athletic. But in college my lifestyle has completely changed, I don't have sports and mandatory practices to go to 6 days a week so I've gained a lot of weight. What I really hope to do is slim down and I'm counting on this challenge to help me do that!

Hope I'm not too late!
I'm 22 (turning 23 on the 14th), I fell off the horse in the holidays, got diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 6 or 7 weeks ago and gained about 15 pounds in less than a year. I just got knee surgery a week ago. So no aerobic exercise for me! Not only do I really need to take care of my health, and stop putting that much weight on that knee, I also graduate on the 14th and I'd like to fit into a nice dress for that day so I can celebrate my grad and my b-day.

So far, I've started to control my portions and eat meals that are more filling and healthier. I'm logging EVERYTHING, I bought a little food scale and measuring spoons. And while I can't do any cardio, I'm doing strengthening exercises for my knee. I've also upped my water intake and lowered my sodium intake.


I'm 5'2, and overall, I'd eventually like to take my weight down to 140lbs (or maybe a bit less).

off by a day i hope i still have in! im 5'6.5" pretty small framed and im looking to get back into shape, i used to play soccer, lax, and run track and ever since iv stopped iv compleatly lost it, i dont expect to have the same body but id like to get to a point where i feel healthy and be able to maintain that.
