Kashi Vs. Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal
Hi all!
I was wondering if anyone has tried the Kashi Go Lean Oatmeal (i was looking at the truly vanilla flavor). I currently eat Quaker Weight Control oatmeal but i am growing tired of eating the same flavors and wanted something that had almost the same type of nutrition content (high fiber/protein) that is satisfying like Quaker Weight Control..
How did you like it and did it fill you up? Thanks!
I switched to the Kashi Go Lean hot cereal from Quaker weight loss oatmeal. I get the Kashi cinnamon flavor, but I'm sure the vanilla is good too.
The Kashi hot cereal isn't just oatmeal (at least, the stuff I have isn't), so you actually have to cook it in the microwave (and stand by watching so it doesn't boil over). You can't just use boiling water. Not sure if that is a problem for you.
I think the Kashi cereal is more filling, actually, and the texture is much better because it isn't just a smooth paste like instant oatmeal.
I prefer the kashi truly vanilla to quaker weight loss oatmeals for both texture and flavor - I find the quaker ones to be a little too sweet.
It's particularly good made with unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze (makes it extra creamy), and mixed with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and a couple of tablespoons of pumpkin. This fills me up quite nicely for most of the morning.
Hi,
I prefer the cinnamon vs the vanilla flavor in the Kashi oatmeal. Here's how I cook it each morning: add 1/3c. water, microwave for 60 secs, stir, add a little cold water, let it cool, then voala! Delicious! Also, Walmart has the best price for Kashi products.
