Kate plus 8
Looks like filming for Jon and Kate Plus 8 has been halted due to a cease and desist order from Jon. Well, at least any filming of the children has been halted.

Quote from article: "It appears that Jon's priority is Jon and his interests," his estranged wife, Kate Gosselin, said in a statement on Thursday. "My priority remains our children and their well being."
I think it's a strong possibility that Kate is actually more intrested in keeping the cameras running at all costs than she is with what it is doing to the children. They've made tons of money on this show. She's also got quite an income from her book and book tour. They are pretty darn well off now. Yet, she refused to acknowledge that what her kids really need. Some time away from the cameras. Some time away from the nannies that most people don't see behind the cameras. These kids need some time alone to just be with their family and their parents and to deal with everything the family is going through. Frankly, I'm glad that Jon demanded they halt filming.
So, with this new development, I'm kind of wondering how everyone feels about this whole mess.
of the two of them, i'm certain kate has the interests of their children far more in mind.
i think jon is a collosal douchebag though...so i may be a little biased.
They both disgust me.
At first I held off on judging Jon because he really stayed in the background and Kate was out there in the media bashing on him, which I felt was unforgiveable. But now he appears to be running around with trashy women and is just as nasty to Kate in the media as she used to be to him.
I think TLC needs to cancel the show for the sake of those kids.
She needs the show to keep providing free PR until she lands her talk show gig and book deal.
He needs the show to not boot him so he can have a platform to repair his trashed reputation before his 15 minutes of fame expires.
Neither of these douchebags are acting in their children's best interests, though J-bag's temporary interests currently align with what is truly best for the children.

Hehe. As usual, you said it far More eloquently than I did.
These people are the equivalent of a bad train wreck, so I choose to not rubber neck and pay attention to it beyond scrolling past the entertainment headlines.
About the most interest I have is that I hope their kids aren't too victimized by their media whoring narcissism and manage to grow up to be normal human beings.
This is disgusting. I agree with santonacci.
Now, Jon Gosselin is on Larry King live with his attorney claiming that "TLC failed to designate specific compensation for the children." That is ridiculous. How many years has this show been going on and he had nothing to say about "compensation for the children" then??? Give me a break.
The whole thing is wrong on so many levels.

^Seconded.
If I were TLC I'd look at ways out of the contract.

starlit.....i <3 your antics. seriously. they really get me through my day.
i agree. john is an a-hole and kate is money hungry- and doesn't even look like she had babies! she got rid of all her war scars!!!!!!
he's gross. i always thought that maybe he was a perv. just strange- like he got roped into having all these babies and never really grew up.
and those kids......i'm just counting the days until one of them puts a book out about "what it was like to be a part of the family" or "sex, drugs, and TLC- a 6 year old's story of getting her first high" we're just shaping the Future of E! Televsion.....
Just let them BE, invest in some good financial planners; and be set for life. And for once......spend some time with your CHILDREN.....alone! As a family!!
Meh. After hearing so much of them (they're like on every single magazine cover by the register, what else am I going to stare at while waiting? D: It's either that or Oprah!) you start to get sick of them...

If I had that many kids at one time, I'd have the surgery to remove the "war scars" too.

I just found this interview with Larry King:
King: Jon is quoted in the new "Us Weekly": "I wish I had a 9 to 5 job instead of the nightmare I'm living. This is 24/7. I don't even want to do taping the show anymore." What's your reaction to that?
Gosselin: Jon's opinions and his goals are his. I know that, personally, for myself and the kids, this has been a good experience. It continues to be a good experience. And, you know, really the network has been extremely supportive, above and beyond, I feel, what they need to be. And I only experience good things.
Everyone works. Everyone has a job. Everyone has what they're dealing with. And, generally speaking, this is the most flexible, workable, wonderful job for myself.
It's a wonderful job for her! too bad it's also a job for her kids. good thing other parents don't make their kids work alongside them.
these kids need their life back. she needs to get a REAL job.
Jon needs to grow up. Since he chose not to experience being a wild young man by having 8 kids, it's pretty sad that he's trying to make up for the lost time now at the cost of losing his family.

that is what i base my opinion on. i watched the final episode of the show last season (yes...i know...)...and jon kept repeating in the interviews "i'm only 32...".
yes, jon. pretty sure kate didn't go about making those 8 kids by herself.
New this fall...
A special 6 hour season premiere...
Jon and Kate....plus H8
It's time reality TV got real.

or
Jon H8s Kate + 8
That works too. :)
I have never watched the show. But I keep hearing... "doing what is best for the kids." Well, wasn't it way beyond "what was best for the kids" the first time these parents thought of nothing but the 'ol mighty dollar sign and started signing contracts to have their family bombarded by cameras and put on t.v.?
Just out of curiousity....do we feel the same way the other TLC families...such as 17 kids and counting...Little People etc... they also all seem to be doing the same thing - they also have way nicer lifestyles that they would have had they regular jobs....only difference is that I can see is that they are not divorcing or having family problems - perhaps it's not the show as much as it's the dynamics of the personalities involved - they COULD have set the example of how to divorce - let the kids have the house and the parents go back and forth was such a wonderful thing for the kids - I guess it's just really hard to impossible to divorce nicely - I really commend those few ex couples out there who do. I failed miserably at that myself I am sad to say.
Perhaps Jon's opportunist style intervention will be a blessing in disguise for all involved!
TLC says Jon was happily taping until he found out he was being fired and then suddenly he's worried about his kids? What about when he was having fun playing the happy bachelor? Of course I don't think she's any better. Personally I think they're both tabloid fodder and neither has the best interests of the children in mind.
