Keeping Food Log

Quote  |  Reply

I am having a problem keeping a food log up to date.  I start the morning planning for the day, but life happens, and I don't always eat as planned.  When this happens, I am usually away from the computer and cannot update my food log.  I do have the mobile calorie count, but it doesnt access my food log, so though I know the calorie, I have no where to keep track of it.  Any suggestions?

Try keeping a little pad to just jot the food down during the day.  Set aside some time at night to enter it all and then peek at your analysis and let yourself know what you'd like to focus on the next day; i.e., more/less protein, fat, carbs, etc.  I find going back 30 days and looking at my overall monthly habits helps......

Yes, the notepad would be my suggestion also.  You will begin to memorize the calories for the things you eat the most frequently, and you'll be able to estimate your intake fairly well.  Then see how close you were when you enter it in the food log later.

JannyLou...what to do...JannyLou,do you have a PDA or Mobile phone w/text. You can text yourself, but the easier way is to have a little spiral note book, and write it down. You can get one at Walgreen's for 1.39 or buy the same one at HEB for .79 o go to Office max and buy a 6 pack for less than .40cts each. You can do it,   amazing how when you plug everything into the food log here  the site and the grade you get.

Good Luck

How nice to meet you.  All of the above are good ideas.

I enter my breakfast.  And in the afternoon catch it up and before bed enter the rest of the day.

Life happens for all of us.  If it is important to you, you will find time to do it.  You find time for the things that matter.

I can actually remember everything I eat all day, it doesn't take long to type it in.
