Keeping it off

Quote  |  Reply

I lost 40lb.  and I am terrified of gaining it back, be it fast or slow.  I don't want to obsess about it, but I've noticed that I'm not eating regularly.  What are some healthy suggestions for keeping my weight off, and also giving myself some days of food fun (Indian food)? Would Indian, Thai (Curry) and Persian food be considered fast food?

Learned the hard weigh Undecided starvation type diets do not work.  They actually add potential for weight gaining because the body stores the fat for lean times.  The best book I've ever read describing this entire process is Diet Markert's Turbo Protein Diet which uses a protein drink mix called Almased.  Over the winter, I eat basically the same as over the Spring and Summer but invariably gain a few pounds over the cold months eating the same food.  The only variable is lack of exercise with the eating.  So what we've always been advised:  get your body moving is the real deal to maintain ideal weight.

To add, the book recommends to maintain desired weight, eat 11 calories per pound of body weight.  The type of food matters because of well-explained reasons.

Thank you for the advice.  I'll have to look into getting the book.  For the past 2 days my eating has been really bad.  I've had maybe 1 -2 meals and maybe no snacks in between.  I know this isn't good.  Not to mention I've been super busy with school, so sometimes I get so wrapped up I just forget to eat, until it's too late and I get the angry stomach feeling.  Thanks again.

I'm a weight loss consultant. I  could tell you whats been working for my friends.....my brother in law lost 13 pounds in 3 weeks and counting...he still pretty much eats what he wants though. my aim is chazhcleveland....my yahoo is chaz_cleveland.....and my msn is chazhc1@yahoo.com. hit me up anytime.

I lost 40lbs last year myself and I did start to gain some backCry.  I feel that I did it to myself I took the winter off and did not exercise like I did during spring and summer I went from a 14/15 jeans down to 7/8.  I started back running nothing hard I'm no marathon runner but I do run 5K's.  I joined a running club in my town we are training for our first race which will be a 4.37mile run.  I feel to keep the weight off watch your portions and  drink LOTS of water and EXERCISE.  I feel watching how much you eat and watching your portions you can treat yourself but you have to include a healthy workout even walking as long as you get yourself moving it will help keep those pounds off.  Take care and good luck.
