keeping track of sugar intake

Quote  |  Reply

Okay, so I don't eat a lot of sweets.  I don't drink regular sodas... I don't sweeten things with real sugar.  yes, I drink diet soda, but that's not what I'm trying to figure out.

I am trying to eat better though... eat out a lot less, more fresh fruit and vegetables, eat smaller portions throughout the day so I'm not having that one huge meal at dinnertime, etc.  That being sad... by eating more fruits and veggies to keep the cravings at bay and feel full longer I am eating a much better amount of calories BUT everything I'm counting is saying I'm having WAY TOO MUCH sugar.  So... am I doing the right thing or not?  It's really confusing.

I also eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and avoid sweets and other foods with sugar.  The Analysis section on the web-site says I get about 250 - 300% of my daily intake of sugar.  I pretty much just ignore this.  I know that most of that sugar is coming from natural sources, so I just don't worry about it.

If you are really concerned about the amount of un-natural sugar you are getting, keep track of that seperately.

That makes sense.  My issue was getting 350% of sugar intake when the places that the sugar is coming from is natural sources.  I've lost 4.5 pounds since I started, so I must be doing something right! :)
