what kind of cake do you want for your next birthday?
it's an odd question, but i'm curious. for your next birthday (whether your birthday has happened this year already or not) what kind of cake do you want? do you even want a cake?
i personally just want a HUGE blizzard from dairy queen, not a whole cake.
last year on my birthday i ate half a cake all alone and then sat on my kitchen floor and cried haha. i don't want a repeat of that this year :|
*drooling* <--- for Luke, not the cake ;)
hehe
Sour cherry chocolate cake with marzipan star and moon thingies on top. My birthday's coming up soon, I guess I'll try to make a reduced calorie version.
For me, I'd want a Dutch Mocha Cake. It's a family-tradition-cake because my Dad's side of the family is Dutch, but I've never had it for my birthday and I've haven't had the cake itself in ages.
Yay for birthday planning 3 1/2 months in advance! Thanks, Erica. ^_^ I hope that your birthday is better this year.
Carrot with cheesecake in the middle xD
Mmm, I want the one I had last year: Super strawberry cake with purple frosting ^^
Italian rum...toffee crunch...did someone say blizzard? Oreo cheesequakes rock! ericainrecovery, you just caused a moment of weakness when I was already feeling the munchies
good thing I'm locked, stocked, and ready to rock with an odwalla choco-walla bar.....touche
I can only imagine how bizarre this sounds, but I think I'll make my own hyperhealthy carrot cake with just raw, grated carrots and an extra thick protein shake on top as icing. My birthday present for myself is sixpack abs, so no cake for me!
A Carrot Cake and an Ice Cream Cake. It's not like eating 2 pieces of cake when one is actually ice cream...right? Oh, ya know? It just occurred to me that I didn't get a cake for my birthday this year so I am not going to care if it equals two pieces.
It's late. My logic is a little sludgy.
Edit: I'm impressed by the above poster's discipline...but I meant I want a real carrot cake, with cream cheese frosting. Though, protein shake..er..hm.
red velvet cake is my absolute favorite!
I second sour cherry and chocolate cake. Tastes that go so well together!
i've read a lot of your threads and posts, always very interesting-- just wanted to let you know! i also like this thread/question a lot, because i have been wondering the same thing! for my next birthday, i really don't want a cake. i've eaten half a cake before too... it was so miserable. i was thinking that for my next birthday coming up soon, i will just offer to bake my own cake and make it really healthy-- with whole wheat, applesauce, very little sugar, very fluffy, etc. or i might try an alternative low calorie dessert type thing like gelatin-less jello or pudding.
This year, I told my husband I just wanted a pack of Zebra Cakes! As in, two small cakes... not a whole box. I had just started CC again (about a month in) and I didn't want to mess it up with a birthday cake. Instead, he actually made a double layer yellow cake with vanilla frosting and drew zebra stripes on it with chocolate syrup LOL. Very sweet, but so much for not ruining my diet!!
For my birthday in September I'll be having my favorite:
Carvel Ice Cream Cake (with the chocolate crunchies in the middle)
I've never met a cake I didn't like! I think that for my birthday, I'd rather go out for a dessert. Arnies has this Snickers Pie that is great...too big for one person so I'd share it with my husband. (I know myself too well to every have a cake around the hourse!) When I was going to WW I made chocolate cake mix with a can of diet Coke and light whipped cream on top. Not bad and pretty good calorie-wise, too.
I would prefer a birthday pie - coconut cream with whipped cream as the topping instead of meringue.
However, if a cake is the only option (but I doubt that it is), I haven't had a good angel food cake in while - served with a little bit of chocolate mousse and strawberries.
My birthday is in just over 2 weeks, and I'm hoping to have a delicious chocolate cake w/ chocolate icing. IF my mom makes me a cake though, I will not be making myself one. I don't need double temptation!
How sad is it that my birthday gift to myself is some sourdough bread?
Yesterday my staff bought me an edible fruit basket in lieu of cake... it was delicious! When I went out to eat, my husband ordered a frozen yogurt with a candle in it... it was great!
but I'd totally make the cakes with diet soda & the pudding is sugar & fat free and maybe I could make my own frosting? or I know they sell a reduced sugar kind. thanks for getting the wheels turning in my head! lol
Not to say I don't gorge my face on other holidays. Plus I do love cake. I would say its maybe the ONLY holiday I don't use as an excuse to cheat on calorie counting haha.
Maybe this year I'll stick a candle in a hostess 100 calorie pack of cupcakes haha
